I guess I can see this. I think Rubio is more of a figurehead for the conservative Latino community, though. But back to your assertion...Cuba is communist, not socialist, but either way, Cubans who are actually FROM Cuba may have a better understanding of why capitalism is so great, versus people who have spent their whole life in America (or at least are not direct descendents of first generation Cubans) and take it for granted. Following that line of thought, they may identify more with a conservative, and may identify more with a Cuban conservative, i.e., Rubio.

No. They vote Repub because they are white wanna-bes and came from the richer sratum of Cuban life. these were the folks who looked down on black Cubans and continue to carry on in this country just like they did in Batista's Cuba. They will bore you to death with their sob stories about how poor that they were when they came to this country. But they still had their education, their whiteness and help from an all too willing US Gov't willing to give them assistance ( a Democratic administration I might add). Once they took all of the handouts, they thanked the Dems by turning into Repugs. No different than the Vietnamese after them.

Inarticulately expressed but damn near hit the nail on the head.

These GOP Cuban refugees lol are the ones for the most part benefitting from the exploitation of Cuba by the Sugar Cane industry and the Mob. They were the ruling elites who were reaping all the wealth looking from on high laffing at the peasants. When Castro stopped the BS they was like uh-oh time to go.

They want their country back lol.....

Now that being said the economic isolation and terrorism against Cuba by the US govt (thanks to the elite Cuban and Mob lobby) has made conditions so bad in Cuba that regular people are leaving for better opportunity.

But if Cuba was allowed to operate economically like other countries it wouldnt be as bad.

Oh, my. I'm half-Cuban, my father came here when he was 6. You have no clue what you're talking about, except for the assistance from the US. You know darn well those people were happy to be here in our free land, it had nothing to do with politics, Dem or RepuB. You are especially wrong about your little race bit and also that they were some kind of rich folk.

I've met different Cuban Americans in my life. Half were racist and half weren't. They tend to look down on other Hispanics like myself (a Mexican american). The Cubans are somewhat racist and are NOT like the rest of the so-called Hispanics. I laugh when the Repugs on this forum always insist that ALL "hispanics" will vote for that rich whiteboy Rubio.
