It should go to popular vote (prop) in Texas and the people can vote as they see fit.

With that said. Expect a even bigger population boom in the lower SES. Rich women get abortions, they just do it in secrecy.

Poor people can get abortions too. They just have to come up with the money to do it.

Why is this organization funded by the government? It's a private non-profit, isn't it? Shouldn't they be funded by donations?

How very "Christian" of the great USA.
It's very typical of Texas. It got to the point where for me personally it got embarassing to be in a place with such a backwards mentality about so many social issues. I have no regrets about leaving.

Why do the libs have such little faith in non-profit orgs filling the gap? Do you really have such a lofty opinion of a federal government that would go silent on radiating their TSA agents.

It's not the issue. The fact that Planned Parenthood does abortions at all is the anthema of what Conservative America believes in.

America is in a state of ideological warfare between Conservatives and Liberals and what it means to be an American.

Based on the actions the Conservatives have taken since 2008 and especially after the 2010 elections they've made it clear that they are going to make an all out effort to make it has difficult as possible to give a woman the right to choose when it comes to abortion. They also plan to attack labor unions especially public employee labor unions and they are going to everything possible to expand the power and increase wealth of corporate America at the expense of the middle class and poor; at a time when the wealth gap in this country is at historical highs.

Why do private, for-profit physican practices (including the one I work for) get money from the feds? Because they provide health care. That is the issue, Planned Parenthood getting paid by Medicaid to provide Medicaid approved services. The feds are not "funding" Planned Parenthood any more than they are funding my employer.

All the reasons you note make me proud I'm Conservative. Well stated!

Yes the majority of their funding comes from private donations.
I dunno what the uproar is about with gov funding cut..it's a small part of PP funding. All PP has to do is contact their donors and ask for more.

Go figure..making a mountain out of a molehill.
