To me it is logical that from NOW until the election is the time to strike Iran for Israel.

#1 They know they have a friend in Romney and that there is a great likelihood that he will win in November. Iran and the Middle East also know Romney will likely act more responsible than Obama has with Islamic terrorist behavior.

#2 Jews also know they have no friend in Obama, but being Obama is trying so hard to get elected they know if they strike now that Obama can not do anything at this time to hurt Israel without losing lots of votes. So for Israel this is the best time to do their thing and have the least repercussions from it.

So between now and the election for Israel taking care if Iran is a win win...
That is my view anyway.

Hi, are you a US citizen, or representative for Israel? If it is former, why you want a foreign country to drag OUR country into THEIR war? If it is latter, you need to register as a foreign agent in the State Dept.

The Israelis are always going to do what is in the their best interest for survival.

The iranians have a leader that is constantly boasting about leveling Israel to the ground.

Israel knows it's going to be hammering a bee's nest, but the world has essentially forced it's hand. It has no choice.

Knowing the military history of that country and special operations and attacks they have done, they are creative. I don't believe this attack is going to be straightforward but rather very creative and using a lot of unconventional means to get the job done.

It's going to be a hold onto your seat ride when this happens but most likely like Iraq 1981 and Syria back in 2007 or so, the world will moan and whine but do nothing. They do nothing about iran having nukes and they'll do nothing about those nukes getting attacked by Israel.

It also would not surprise me that is the October Surprise and obama will move to commit the US military to ensure his reelection, telling everyone that this is a time of crisis that requires his continuation of fantastic leadership and we don't need to deal with the transition to another president so don't bother voting for Romney. Same excuse the power mad FDR used in a time of war, well past the time he was healthy enough to be president.

Israel does more than rattle sabers, it steals land and deprives the Palestinians rights to water, their land, foreign aid, etc.

Let Israel take care of themselves.
They've got a war mongering right wing government that is just as bad as every other war mongering right wing government.

Wow, imagine that: countries whose leaders act in their own nation's interests! Wish we had some of those, instead of leaders who slobber incessantly on Israel and her amen corner.

Pretty much and even if the UN does attempt to put Israel in its place the US will use its Veto power to prevent Israel from being held accountable.

I don't think so. With the explosion of Syria, and unless Egypt cleans up its act, Iran is left as the one obvious country wich the US needs to maintain balance in the Middle East. That means that Isreal and Iran will have to move in the same direction that they did with Egypt and Syria, before. The extreme statements by Israeli and Iranian elected leaders are as much, or more, related to their need to deal with political conditions in their own countries than to their actual foreign policies. Both Presidents are in a pickle as far as what they can say and do. But I highly doubt that either side will resort to militray action and in 20 years they may well be allies dealing jointly with a few other countries in the region to control moslem extremism.
