Third trimester abortions are VERY RARE.....and when they are done.....they are done for a GOOD REASON.
FYI.....women do die in childbirth....you seem to think it never happens in this day and age.....it DOES.
In the case of third trimester abortions.....the woman involved almost always desperately WANTED the child.
Even in states that do not have restrictions on third trimester abortion......good luck trying to find a physician willing to do one just because a woman asks for it. It just doesn't happen.
FACT: Sometimes, you can't save the mother and the child....you have to make a choice....it happens.....whether you choose to acknowledge it or not.
FACT: Sometimes the fetus has some horrible defect and the doctors KNOW it will only suffer and die if it is born. It is better to be aborted than to lay in an ICU going through horrible pain and suffering for hours or days. It is the COMPASSIONATE thing to do.
What makes YOU think that YOU should be the one making these decisions and not the mother and doctors involved?

well you havent answered it in this thread.
If the mothers life is in danger the baby does NOT have to be killed in the womb and then delivered. That makes NO sense at all.
People have third trimester abortions because their baby was going to have some type of "defect" And instead of giving that child a fighting chance at life because SURPRISE SURPRISE doctors can be wrong they kill it.
And as for it being the compassionate thing to do you are not God. All abortions are murder but third trimester abortions are 110% cruel and heartless cold blooded murder.
You know who does that Tony? Women who desperately want their baby.
But something goes horribly wrong.
The woman is in danger of losing her life.
The baby is horribly deformed and will suffer terribly only to die soon after birth.
And then, as if losing a child she desperately wanted isn't enough, the pro-life crowd will call her a murderer and persecute her if given the chance.
Sad, isn't it?
As you saw, with your own two eyes, women that were seeking to abort in the third tri-mester, just because they wanted to.....were turned away.
No one should have an abortion in the 3rd tri-mester. That is too late in the pregnancy. If my gf was up to her 3rd tri-mester, I would have the kid. It's tooo late in the pregnancy. This is killing a baby.

We're talking about THIRD trimester abortions here. 27 weeks and later. A baby is viable at 24 weeks. Why would you kill a baby that has a huge survival chance? There is not one not even ONE good reason to do this.

and a third trimester abortion will not save that mothers life or can you give us an expample when this has happened? today's tech prevents such situations. Mothers who die in childbirth (rare as it is) can not be saved by aborting the baby. Do you think aborting the baby (forced labor at that stage) is safer than a C section? I think you have no medical background to back up your reasoning. BTW, a child with horrible defects, you refer to would be diagnosed prior to the last 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Please try reading the thread before commenting. Someone else has already made the same comment as you and I addressed it. Just because you don't get it doesn't mean it doesn't make sense.
Being a life doesn't mean much, now does it?
Especially not in the US where we have the highest murder rate in industrialized countries; where we murder hundreds of thousands of people in stupid wars.
It's all about choice. If the woman chooses to keep the fetus, that's her CHOICE; if you remove that CHOICE, you are at fault; if she wants to make the CHOICE to abort the fetus, that's her CHOICE. Not yours.
