Maybe... It is because while the "general concept" that politicians are dirt bags and stand for "whats in it for them", that those who are opposing the democrats, while they may be just as dirty in "different" ways, they are" at the moment" (has the moment passed, while writing this?) standing for and attempting to promote the positions of the people how, when, where, with what means are they attempting to promote? Facts please....rather than taking the arrogant stance that treats the people as if they were 16th century peasants who need to be placated by claims of falsehood to spur their encouragement. have you taken your meds today? You are spewing all sorts of prose that reads well and says nothing. But its lovely wording nonetheless.

You see, contrary to many liberal think tanks, or FOX NEWS and the right wing cable carpies...the people are not ignorant emotional amoeba, and maybe they can at times between all of the commotion come up with an original thought that is not a planted effort of the media to which that thought ....wow.....festers into a realization that "eating cake"..... when if it made from "grain"..... to which is their complaint will, not be sufficient to meet their needs. ....I suppose this is just over my little liberal head...maybe someone else can explain this whole train of thought to me.

That is, when you spew vile disgusting smell from your mouth, do not expect the local girls to come running to your call. In fact, expect that they will see such as nothing more than a passing of disgusting gas to which all will deem offensive and unworthy of participation. Seriously, someone explain this train of thought to me.....maybe its all that disgusting gas permeating the thought processes?

You go on now though and claim that this response from the democratic party is nothing more than a legitimate attempt at resolving a problem. We can "smell" you coming and the only attention you will be getting is that from the drunks and the dogs. It CANNOT just be be.....is something amiss with this poster?

So carry on... I know I personally love when liberal democrats talk their talk and end up eating their own feces in the process.
WOW, what can one say to that?

Top Dems Seek To Paint Republicans As Irrational On Debt
The dems owned it all for two years, and they ran the congress and senate for the past four, and now we are supposed to expect them to step up? If they cared about jobs, the economy and debt, they would have already stepped up.

"sweet tax rates for the rich at the expense of the nation."

The rich are paying almost 30% tax rate to the feds, how is that a sweet tax cut, when everyone else pays much less?

Elections coming next year. Of course they are going to put the heat on now..they want people to forget the past and only remember the present..that the Dems are "the good guys" so vote for them again next year.

when will liberals ever figure out the facts....cut the spending

There is plenty of revenue to be had. Take it off the top before this "sailboat" of a country tips over. Boats float from the bottom stabilizers!

That's why we should cut 10% across the board in the federal government. That way EVERYONE feels the same pain and can't complain that someone else got a better deal. Everyone will surely complain but hopefully no one will listen.
We should lop 10% off EVERY government service, and disband those that are the least effective, and cut ridiculous scientific sex lives of a fruit fly studies, but yes, I do know the military budget is by far the most bloated of ALL the government services. They use private contractors that make piles and piles of money to be paid to overpriced lobbyists to give those piles to their senators and congressmen. Its a huge Ponzi scheme and has been going on for decades and decades. My dad was a "procurement officer" in one of the largest bases in the country. He was disgusted at the amount of graft, greed and corruption running rampant...just on that one base.

yes take it off the top

the top spending

ss, defense, medicare, medicaid

cut everything by 50%

frederal spending has increase 44% since 2007...bring us back to 2006 spending and we will have a surplus.....2006 fed budget 2.7 trillion ...revenue in 2008 (prior to the recession) 2.75 trillion..

get people back to work and revenue will be through the roof

but if there is not MOTIVATION to work, and people would rather collect an eltitlement..you will see revenues drop more

"Uhhh, the laffer curve shows that decreasing taxes actually increases government tax receipts."

Well no, what it shows is that there's an optimal tax rate and any deviation from it in EITHER DIRECTION (be it tax hikes or tax cuts) will decrease revenue (If you ascribe to supply side Reaganomics anyway).

Taxes are at their lowest rates in 50 years so in order for Reps to argue for more tax cuts (or at least not more tax increases), it behooves them to get away from the Laffer Curve explaination and move on to something else....

Yes, a higher GDP will always yield more revenue than a lower GDP. Congrats on figuring that one out.

However, since we cannot just snap our fingers and pull increase GDP out of our arses, we need to do OTHER things to increase government receipts....

It really isn't that difficult of a concept.
Tax rates alone, are not what can slow an economy, over regulation can have an even more dramatic effect, and 0bama has added even more regulations, and they are helping to kill our economy.

You cannot simply cut Medicare and SS by 50%, you would destroy the lives of people who have planed their retirement around those two programs.
