Isn't a sex scandal the standard procedure to deal with anyone who goes against the grain?
Spitzer and DSK. Not too long ago, Julian Assange of Wikileaks.
Yup, and John Edwards, David Vitter, Larry Craig, Bill Clinton and Anthony Weiner as well......
The Assange one has to be false, who would be with a guy who never takes a bath/shower?
Even if he gets away with the incident in NYC, he won't be happy when he gets home as a woman in France has also accused him of having tried to rape her 9 years ago. I don't know if there is anything to it, but I assume it will make even more people doubt his integrity. So, even if he does not end up in jail, he is pretty much over and done with in terms of politics I suppose.
Bottom line... he did rape the woman... the prosecution doesn't want to do the case because of her credibility... that's a shame... but that's what happened.... Forensics shows she was raped and I be willing to be bet that the test kit will be positive for genetic match... the case wasn't based on lack of forensic evidence but on the woman and her past... apparently she is involved with drug dealers who look like they used her to do money laundering... she lied about that (but then who wouldn't, cause she would be faced with prison if she confessed)... she was raped but unfortunately for her, we do victim blaming a lot based on someone's past... you know, its the "She deserves it because we don't like her."...
It is nopw deabtable if she was rape if the taped converstions with her boyfriend in prison are as reported. Its not about the past entriely but present taped conversations that adds to the setup charge. Like she will alos face deportation for lying o her visa application.
She was in the company of drug dealers... Probably the only one with a legit bank account for them to make deposits in when she did favors for them. This woman is not very intelligent to make deposits over $5,000 into her account and believe there's not going to be an IRS record of that fact. She came from a corrupt nation, entered the USA under false pretenses, you have to believe that she's also corrupt.
Strauss-Khan's DNA was taken from the room and her body. It didn't just show up miraculously, DSK put it there.
DSK was going against the international bankers with a new twist to IMF loans to countries where he wanted countries to succeed rather than become weak and dependent on IMF loans.
Then came the scandel and *poof*..no more DSK running the IMF.
Now the maid's story and background come into question.
Can't all be rumor if he got released by a judge without any bail.
And the plot thickens.....I thought it was a setup all along
When it comes to politics and banking..a good sex scandal seems to be the way to remove them from the game.

"They also discovered the woman made a phone call to an incarcerated man within a day of her encounter with Strauss-Kahn in which she discussed the possible benefits of pursuing the charges against him, the paper said.
The conversation was recorded. The man was among a number of people who had made multiple cash deposits, totaling around $100,000, into the woman's bank account over the last two years, The New York Times said."
Are phone calls allowed to the prison inmates from the outside? I thought the inmates could make collect calls.

I find it strange she would speak about anything possibly illegal on a phone call to an inmate. Prison phone calls are knowingly recorded. I agree with you she may be deported.
Charges are being dropped against DSK at his next court appearance.

Sounds like an attempt to discredit a man by creating a "sex" scandal. This may have worked in the prudish USA but the Europeans and the French in particular, are less condemning of these alleged actions. Sex scandals just are not what they used to be. Thankfully.
Call me old-fashioned, but I think a man who admits to having sex with prostitutes should not become the president of a country or any other important organization. Let alone, if any of the accusations beyond that are true...
