Bush left office during a cyclical recession after 6 strong years of growth and prosperity. As far as I know, only Bill Clinton had a better economy. Obama has turned that cyclical recession into a depression.
Come to think of it, the economy didn't start to show cracks until 2007 after the Democratic Congress took control. Hmm.
Everything you said was completely accurate. At least when Bush was president we didn't have millions of people who have been out of work for 99 weeks or more. I actually talked with someone about a month ago who had been out of work for 3 years.
I miss Bush because at least jobs were easier to find then. Back before the dems took control of Congress I always thought that people that were out of work for a year or more were lazy, but I changed my thoughts now. Jobs were much easier to find in 2005-2006. I would get offers when I wasn't even looking for work. God, I miss those days.
I did not miss George W...But now that I realize the economy was booming during his presidency (apparently I completely missed that fact for 8yrs )...And that he supported freedom and Obama does not support freedom...WOW...Yeah I really miss him now. You are a pretty smart guy, thanks for enlightening me about how great the economy was under Bush, and how much more freedom we had then vs. now!
Don't you remember how the birds were always singing, and the sun was always shining? And the rainbows! So many rainbows!
Whether it was the Valeria Plame scandal, the Downing Street Memo, the vetoing of stem cell research, the Walter Reed scandal, Katrina, oh and ignoring the previous administration's warnings about Bin Laden... gosh, it really was like one long beautiful dream!
The economy was booming until soon after the Democrats tok over congress. Unemployment was very low between 2003-2006.
While W was too liberals for me (I would have much prefered a NON-compassionate conservative) I do miss him. I find his humbleness to be refreshing, I especially appreciate it now.
Oh, just rich. You would have preferred a NON compassionate conservative. Do you remember shock and awe? Let me refresh your memory:
Ha! The sad thing is it's true (the part about him wrecking the country).
True in your "Kool Aid" induced buzz you have going on!
W is a great American and maybe you should read his book Decision Points so you can learn something!

I'd pay a penny on Amazon for the privilege of burning it.
George W had his problems but at least the economy was booming during his presidency and at least he supported the freedom of the American people unlike who we have in office now. Anybody else with me here?
H*ll No. FYI, many of the issues we have today are results of those eight years under Dubya. Miss him, not likely.

When I say compassionate I am refering to social spending. For example the huge Medicare drug expansion.
Yes Bush was a neo-con but so is Obama. Look what he is doing in Libya.
He is not dropping white phosphorus on anyone. Did you watch the Fallujah video? He is not "into" a shock and awe campaign. Yes, he has become involved in Libya and I wish we would stick to an isolationist policy at this point, but the links I posted say it all about Bush. And Obama is NO neo-con.

Many of the problems we have today can be traced back even further,..to politicians like Dodd and Frank who thought banks should be forced to give home loans to poor people who couldn't pay back. This caused the housing bubble which was the start of this mess that we never got out of. If Bush believed in an "ownership society" where poor people should get home loans he was also part of the problem. But IIRC he warned against this.

Well, then I am sure you'll provide a link to back this up, right? Good luck finding one.
