Hmm, somewhere I recall someone saying "we go to war with what we have, not what we would like to have." Oh, yeah, that was Rumsfeld! I am sure the troops were pleased to hear that.

And I am sure the troops were pleased to learn that Bushco wanted to cut VA benefits for them too!

Now what was it you were saying while I was busy telling the truth?

I guess that is about as anti-American as it gets. What part of that do you not agree with?
Most liberals are in favor of immigration reform, rather than people just crossing the border (or flying into the country from Europe, which happens) illegally.

Some liberals oppose a formal "English-only" law. As I have pointed out many times on this forum, my husband's grandmother never learned English after she immigrated from Sweden at age 17; my hometown is full of people of my parents' ages (born ~ 1910-1920) who never spoke English until they went to school b/c their parents (b. ~1880-1890) immigrated from Italy, Poland, and other southern and eastern European countries and didn't speak English in the home.

I have never heard of any proposal to give land back to Mexico.

I do not know a single person who does not "support the troops".

I have never heard of any support for prosecuting the troops for doing their jobs.

I have never heard any liberal "celebrate" any of the people you mentioned.

I do not know anyone who looks on America (sic) as the source of evil in the world.

Whatever people... if anyone was actually patriotic they would donate their time on 7/4 to serving needy vets or doing something positive for the country instead of having pissing contests about who is more patriotic on a lame internet forum and doing their lame BBQs.

It could have been worse, he could have said it was composed by a Russian to celebrate the victory of Czar Alexander I over Napoleon. Notice how it incorporates movements from both the Russian and French national anthems. A majestic piece of music that demands an army howitzer firing blanks.

Is this what you plan to do? Volunteer?

Gosh, I spent the last five years of my life volunteering so I figure I'm entitled to just sit this one out. No, I didn't do it on 4th of July, just a couple times a week.

BTW, no BBQ here. If anything, I'll be getting my house in order to sell or trying to.

I have names for "people" like you but I'd get kicked off CD if I posted the truth about you.

I suppose while you're reciting the "Pledge" several times today you won't give a thought to WHO protects this country....Hint: It isn't the imaginary Sky Ghost

You couldn't get more anti-American or Un-patriotic.
In addition, there are many more like your dad. Most men of his age were WW II vets, yet the country elected Truman and Kennedy as president in the years after WW II.. They couldn't have won w/o the vets voting for them.

I would accept a primary source. You taught history; you know what that is.

Military personnel can be just as uninformed as someone like you. If anything, the Bush administration was disgraceful in the way they treated the military, and it was this CONSERVATIVE administration that made their lives more difficult and dangerous, not liberals.

Troops lacking protective armour, civilian contractors making 10 times their salaries doing the same jobs, returning wounded veterans living in deplorable conditions and getting subpar treatment, and the list goes on and on. None of this was the doing of liberals - it was all from the Bush administration who were willing to throw military lives away on a war that began as a lie.

Instead of watching Fox News, try looking on the internet at forums, for instance, where veterans actually talk about their experiences amongst themselves and speak firsthand about how Bush left them in the lurch after so many photo ops to help his political campaigns.

I got a good laugh out of the article. I am sure that after the 4th passes, the liberals can get back to flag burning after a brief respite.
Funny...how you say, as if its a given fact, that liberals despise the military and America. Yet its your cowardly Republican/conservative/talk-radio leaders who are by FAR underrepresented in their service to the country. It's the 'liberals' who by far outnumber the 'conservatives' when it comes to actual, factual, military and country service. You cowards claim 'patriotism' by wearing stupid pins and claiming undying allegiance to every stupid, idiotic, bumbled campaign to send American troops into harms way as long as its done by a fellow cowardly, flag pin wearing, armchair patriot.
But reality is, if you look at the truth by far more of our heroes are what the right-wing talk-radiots would call 'liberals'.

You are excused because you volunteer on a regular basis.

I'm not claiming to be patriotic so I'm excused. This year I am confined to this bed so I am bitter.

The more I read liberal writings, the more I see liberalism as a mental disorder.

Exhibit A) Liberals LOVE to talk about how important education is, but NEVER place the blame for failing schools on the parents. There are always excuses for the recipient class.

Exhibit B) They believe that everybody is entitled to equal results in life. YOUR decisions in life determine your outcome.

Exhibit C) Liberals are the most generous people in the world with other peoples money, but the most stingy with their own.

Remember, good intentions do not help anyone.
