This is a tough one. I'm very pro 2A but I find myself having a tough time getting on board with this....

Sounds more like a case for more competent judging than anything else.

while i am all for states allowing people to petition for their right to keep and bear arms to be restored, i think the standard should be set quite high. perhaps they need to have an exemplary record for say ten years before that right can be restored. that would prove that that person has gotten over their past issues.

Being a strong advocate for RKBA, I have no issue with removing the gun rights of individuals shown to be mentally incapable to own guns, drive a car, etc....

If procedural due process was followed and the individual was found to be not capable of responsible ownership, then sorry no guns for you.

All they have to do is go to a gun show. Same for felons on parole. It is not like they can't do it already.

Slippery slope people. If they can take the rights away from one group of people, what's stopping them for anyone else. This is what big government does. Take the rights away from one group, and then tries to broad brush everyone the same way

Given that Lee Oswald, Mark Chapman, John Hinkley, Sung He Cho, Jerry Lochner or anyone of hundreds of mentally ill Americans who went on rampages with guns would be the last persons to consider themselves mentally ill and seek help, what are we as Americans to do? Do we put on the black cloth and accept the carnage with a stiff upper lip or can we change our acceptance that everyone has the right to keep and bare arms ?

In a day when people cared more for their family , loved ones would not let this man even ask for weapons he is more likely to kill himself with .

Yes, I know we should keep gun rights for dangerous psychotics that hear voices to go kill people.

So people are in the habit of following their adult family members around 24/7?
