"A Prominent Republican is joining a prominent Democrat in predicting that Gov. Cuomo will become President Obama's running mate for vice president next year. Cuomo, who saw a flurry of predictions last week in the wake of the gay-marriage victory that he'll run for president in 2016, has repeatedly refused to discuss the possibility of higher office. The president will call him up later this year and say, 'Andrew, you have to do this for the good of the country.' What's Andrew going to say, 'No?' "

Barack Obama to ask New York governor Andrew Cuomo to be his 2012 running mate for vice president: sources - NYPOST.com

What, that would put Biden right behind Reverend Wright and Obama's grandmother as people Obama threw under the bus? I say he won't do it. They'd have to invent some medical reason for Biden leaving the Vice Presidency.

Swap was probably the wrong word since Biden would not become governor of NY.

Cuomo is a DINO, so if Obama really wants to reach across the aisle to independents and Republicans he would probably be a good choice. Cuomo has 53% approval among Republicans in New York as some of his biggest accomplishments since entering office are cutting the state budget, ending the state's "millionaire tax," and enacting a 2% property tax cap.

There's no such thing as a Cuomo with a clean record. We already know that Barack Obama is horrible at pre-vetting candidates....if this article is true....then I predict the Cuomo For VP campaign will implode before it gets off the ground. He's not clean. None of them are.

The NY Post is a fish wrapper. But this idea may not be all that outladish.

It's all abouit 2016. Biden won't be a viable candiadte- he'll be 74 years old. Assuming Obama wins a second term (a big if), and the country isn't sick of the Dems yet (bigger if), they'll need a viable Dem candidate.

Coumo would be an excellent choice. The best way to give him a running start would be to insert him onto the ticket as VP in 2012. As for Biden- maybe the SCOTUS, as a concession prize?

As far as "none" of the candidates being "clean"- sure, they all have baggage (especially those goobers from the GOP). So, whattya wanna do, cancel the election???

I by no means like current republicans any more then democrats, but if Obama wanted to reach across the isle he would have done it by now. No way will Obama get re-elected.

Hard to believe that Obama is about to finish his first term, seems like he just got here... I guess cause not much happened during that time other than the government takeover of healthcare... the stocks still suck, unemployment still high, housing prices still crumbling, the borders are still unprotected, but at least we got Osama...

The government took over health care? Tell that to the millions of uninsured.

And stocks still suck? I don't know about you but my 401k is rocking and has been all year besides June, and in the last week it made up for all the June losses.

I'm not going to say Obama has lived up to all his promises because he hasn't but let's make accurate statements.

I'll tell you as a New Yorker that we'd be getting a decent deal. Andrew Cuomo is definitely not his father. Let's put it this way: if you'd be happy with a Vice President who is two-faced and underhanded, you'd love Cuomo. If it was a literal swap, I'd welcome Biden as Governor of New York with open arms.

It would probably be a good move. I like Biden, but he will be too old to run for president in 2016, so having Cuomo be VP for four years will help make him more electable in 2016.
