A few years ago the Libs were calling him "General Betray-us". Now they are sucking up to him like he's the second coming.

Seems to me that the only play on the "betray" thing was in an article that said something to the effect of "General Petraeus, don't Betray us" from moveon.org....or something like that.

Can't find anything other than that about Libs denigrating the guy. Besides, if people are tired of war and think the guy is greasing the skids in favor of staying in Afghanistan long after people think we need to be there, they SHOULD call him out. He's a general, not God. Personally, sucking up to a General officer is pretty pathetic in my opinion....especially a retired one. So if the libs are "sucking up to him like he's the second coming" as you say, that's the bigger transgression. At least to me it is.

More like Petreus is sucking up to the Dems. He sure doesn't seem to have a problem working for Obama. This is the second time the president has promoted him.

Maybe both men know talent when they see it. Or at least they're able to put aside their political differences like adults, and work together for the better of their country.

A concept some on this board can't seem to grasp .

I don't get it myself. Now, that he's
CIA director, I find a true conflict of interest.
So much for conscientious decision making on the hill.

We used to demote\dismiss failed generals back when winning a war was important. Now we keep them around in positions of responsiblity.
