Rather than blame the jurors, blame the prosecution for not making a better case with some real evidence. The jurors had no choice but to acquit because the prosecution failed to prove guilt.
The prosecution should have gone for negligent homicide for a slam dunk.
She may be a lot of things, but the prosecution failed to prove she is guilty of first degree murder.
Jurors are bound by law, not morality.
Talk about morality all you want but I think it is immoral to convict someone without proof, which is what you are advocating.
Proof? Duct tape from the garage on the baby's face. Proof? 30 days of lies and deceipt about her whereabouts why? Proof? The smell of death in the trunk of her car? This is not just a trial of the guilt of a narcissistic hedonistic little mal content whom is representative of much of society today. This is the face of evil and the misguided liberal progressive system that discounts common sense for vagueries of secular humanism. this is the face of evil and it is the face of America.
WRONG, it's beyond a REASONABLE doubt, and they accomplished that. I think the prosecution did an outstanding job. I will forever blame the jury - who are too cowardly to face the public.
Will you take this case to heart till the day you die?
I have no idea about the facts about this case, and here I am sort of wondering if my not caring makes me a horrible person somehow. That this is a national news story at all boggles the mind. You'd think this was the OJ trial. Why? I know better than to make judgments than what comes out of the media anymore.
And now, more on that potential adoption. Apparently the then 19-year-old Casey wanted to give Caylee up for adoption when she was born, but her mother wouldn't let her. Casey's high school friend, Kiomare Torres Cruz, wanted to adopt Caylee, but Cruz told police that after Casey agreed to the adoption, "she called me back saying that her mom pretty much has told her that no, she needs to keep the baby and that she's not giving it up for adoption. Even though she really did not want to have the baby." Creepy Mom Casey Anthony Tried To Give Missing Caylee Up For Adoption
Not at all. I don't care about it either. It has no impact on the vast majority of Americans. We're the rational ones.
If she was lying for over 30 days about the whereabouts of the child where do you think she thought the child was during that time. Should we be out searching for Zanny the nanny? Or...is Zanny the nanny the same kind of in your face yuk it up thumbing her nose laugh that she delivered at aquittal. this is a sick sick sick human being!
To the unhinged, Nancy Grace lovers, etc, you do know that Casey will probably walk come Thursday. And no matter how much you whine, scream, cry, moan, etc, nothing will change that. One of the talking-heads on the news was correct this evening when he said that not every court case will have the outcome people want/expect. That's the way our justice system works. My advice? Turn off Nancy Grace.
I largely avoided most of the trial frenzy but from what I saw, I would say it's very despicable. Casey Anthony was effectively being tried in the media as well and it seemed like the media wanted to issue a guilty verdict for her. And what of the people? The people had this very dangerous mindset of guilty before innocent. To me, it shows of why we need an Electoral College for our elections, and why direct democracy is bad, dangerous, and will result in mob rule. The Founders were right when they said that the people will be subject to the whims and thoughts of society and it will intervere with fair, effective governance. This trial proved to me, that society at large, still is subject to those same whims that the Founders talked about. I'm very glad we have the Electoral College and that we're a representative democracy. Whatever you feel about the verdict, the fact that the prosecution tried to prosecute based on emotion and gut feeling is very unprofessional and tyrannical
You sound like you are blaming the prosecution, when it wasn't them doing any of the leaking, that was the defense team. The Anthony's were on television pleading their daughters innocence. Baez spoke to the media. We never once heard from the prosecution, and I followed this case very closely. The first time we ever even saw the prosecution was the first day of trial. They still choose to stay out of the spotlight. So your anger is misplaced.
Camera's in the courtroom are doing a public service - people fell in love with this little girl and were desperate to see that justice was served. It was not.
The jurors were not subject to the speculation on the tele or newspaper articles, so I don't know what your problem is.
