TSA is suppose to protect us. So who's going to protect us from the TSA?
This doesn't shock me one bit. I fly weekly with my job to numerous airports, and almost all TSA employees look like they were hired straight off the streets of the hood.
I mean really, why is anyone so shocked these thugs are not honest?

I don't know myself. When I saw the requirements that one needed to be an TSA agent I laughed. These are the front line people to intercept terrorists and all they want is a GED ? No law enforcement background needed, no college, nothing but a GED.

Amazing, right? This nation has officially achieved 3rd world status.
It cracks me up sometimes the way various threads evolve ... or rather, devolve.
In this one, we went from one TSA employee confessing to theft, to calls for TSA to be disbanded.
For the actions of one employee? Really?
Not really. Everyone knows it's just the actions of an employee (not one employee, incidentally. Actually quite a few. But still, even that aside for the same reason as it is not really representative of the whole, and whether it represents a systemic problem is arguable - Most would probably say it does not come close to being a systemic problem.)
The negative sentiment towards the agency is simply an expression of the totality of what some people see as the bigger picture. It's not just one employee klepto'ing things.
This is no surprise and it is even less of a surprise that the story is from South Florida. It is a 3rd world country down there with scum imported from all other parts of the 3rd world. Everyone is corrupt and only looking to exploit others. I am so glad I moved out of there. Anyone who would move to Miami/Ft. Lauderdale should be examined for serious mental defects.

I have to go to South Florida frequently on business, and sadly, your post is true.
For thos of you who feel we do not have freedom? what would happen to this person, if this happened in a Middle Eastern Country, and someone as this were caught stealing in the same scenario. Imagine what would happen to that hand! Maybe for this here reason, i am not that trusting of a person anymore.
Nope, not for the actions of one employee, this is just the latest in a series of abuse controversies surrounding TSA. I have yet to hear of any incidents where TSA successfully foiled an attempt to sabotage a flight before the passenger boarded the plane (I do not deny they have happened but if so I have not heard of them), yet I have heard of at least a couple instances where they dropped the ball and many, many instances where they have harrassed, humiliated and arguably sexually assaulted honest passengers including minors.
Well first of all, negative news will ALWAYS out report positive news. Whats the old addage...."if it bleeds it leads?". Watch your local news tonight...the amout of negative stories will outweigh the positive ones 10 to 1. The idea that "because I don't see it or hear it, it must not be true" is a little silly. I've never seen a million dollars cash, but I know it's there.
Secondly, as others have pointed out, it's not like the TSA is comprised of high level military/police personel. They are everyday regular people just like you and me. And I don't believe their presence is to prevent any and all wrongdoing. I think the idea of getting caught is supposed to thwart most terrorist into thinking they aren't going to be able to just walk on a plane with some sticks strapped to their chest.

We have a "right to travel"? Which admendment was that one?
