Is there any money left in the White House budget for a new crystal ball? Anybody want to chip in for a new one for White House Advisor David Plouffe?

“'The average American does not view the economy through the prism of GDP or unemployment rates or even monthly jobs numbers,' Plouffe said, according to Bloomberg. 'People won’t vote based on the unemployment rate, they’re going to vote based on: ‘How do I feel about my own situation? Do I believe the president makes decisions based on me and my family?’ The remarks will likely irritate Democrats who think Obama and his political team have taken their eye off jobs."

The rest of us non-Democrats are wondering what Obama has been doing running around the country campaigning at this plant and that plant if jobs are no big deal.

The direction the rate is moving will be important. What direction it is going next year, depends on how successful the Repubs are vs how successful the Dems are, at influencing it.

I think it will depend greatly on if you personally have a job.

No one knows what goes through the mind of the individual voter. And with our low election turn outs, it depends on how many people from what base turn out.

Remember, the Bush administration pushed Republican legislatures and governors to put gay marriage on the ballot in swing states in the 04 election. This was for a vital reason, they knew it would turn out Christian and family values voters to the polls to ban gay marriage. Who were they more likely to vote for? Republican or Democrat?

I don't think the next election will have a very high turn out, not like the 08 election (like that was high). Mainly because people won't be pleased with either parties candidate running.
