Whats Canadas secret????????

We have clung to the quaint notion that banks should be regulated and that one should have income in order to buy a house.
Canadians have learned from our mistakes. We’ve been where you are. Once upon a time we elected (and elected, and elected, and elected) a prime minister named Pierre Trudeau. He was terribly attractive, charismatic, and arrogant. He made us internationally beloved – well, by our standards. People actually knew who we were, which was nice for a change. He revelled in all that was trendy, seemingly enjoying the company of dictators over democrats. And he placed our economy on a handcart headed straight for hell.

So, a final tip for you: Elect somebody boring. On May 2, we gave Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his Conservative Party a majority in the House of Commons (after giving him minority mandates in 2006 and 2008). A Star Trek geek in his youth, Mr. Harper is often compared to Mr. Spock. But as Barack Obama struggles with an existential debt crisis and controversial healthcare reform, waffles in his support of Israel and goes on worldwide apology tours, Harper has avoided pushing for dramatic changes to our social safety net (attracting Canadaâ€s many middle-of-the-road voters), has put pragmatism ahead of ideology where fiscal matters are concerned (with an odd mix of targeted tax breaks and increased spending), and remains a principled defender of Western values on the world stage.

Which operate WITHIN the Provincial Government's rules, and are staffed by Doctors who bill for their services, to the Provincial Health Care system.

And your point was ?

All in all, there are many of us who voice our positives always when it comes to our neighbor to the North. Its not always came without strife ether , the tear apart searches of my motor home, looking for what I do not know?. ( lets see there were loads of wine, cigars, an ounce or two of other stuff, but no Guns ) I moved on. O' and there have been a lot more border crossings that have caused problems and cost money, but through it all , very understanding ,caring folk who overlooked things they did not have too.
Then, to top off the cake, portal, BC to Wa. one sunny afternoon, when a US uniformed lady entered my coach, opened the fridge, withdrew the one over ripe banana , telling me it was contraband and must be left at the border. As a drove away headed for Seattle, I saw in my rear-view mirror that same lady devouring my banana , I guess she was hungry... they need to feed them customs people better, maybe then they would not be eating my fruit, that, I had brought from the US Weeks ago . I never knew they grew banana's in Canada !.

The crossing into BC is easier than coming back. We had the RV torn apart also. Two hours.

When I voiced a complaint I was told that other people might hide things in my RV and then follow me back across. It was for my own safety.

My point was to dispute your claim that ALL hospitals in Canada were government owned.

We have less institutionalized corruption. Our system is still for the most part based on honor. Our banks are run by old school guys who are diligent and have a sense of duty to the public- BUT they are dying out and we will soon be like you..unless the new ones have learned their lessons well from their elders...but I doubt it...an old man who died recently was a very influential man in the corporate and banking world- He was in slight distress just before he left this earth...He said one thing involving a growing trend among younger executives...."laziness - stupidity and greed" You in America just happen to have an over abundance in these types of new bees...In time...we will fall as low as you...
