It's patriotic to support runaway government spending with your hard earned money!

This legislation will also place unnecessary demands on the employer who must process the paperwork for the deduction.

As an employer, I'd question the intelligence of any employee who would willingly give the government more of their paycheck.

Well there's a poll out there that says the majority of Americans are willing to pay higher taxes. Whether or not they are actually working and paying taxes is another story though.

No, you first. I don't take any social entitlements. Are you suggesting that as Obama's EPA makes electric rates necessarily skyrocket that I should refuse the money he has given me of yours as a 30% tax credit to install solar panels?

Maybe the better way would have been for your liberal/progressive politicians not to pass the legislation allowing it to begin with? Just sayin......

As long as I am supporting the non-producers of this country why should I not get every tax dollar back that I am able until such a time as those "incentives" are removed by fiscally responsible legislators?

Sounds like propaganda.

Hey, I'm not telling you what to do. I am responsible for what I do, not for what others do.

If people are telling me that I shouldn't do take money they are actively drawing on while they tell me...they should walk the walk as a personal example. Otherwise sign a contract they will not draw any even if they need it. I think it's pretty reasonable honestly.

If you want to assign me my beliefs, it's always a loons option to do so. Certainly puts a damper on real thought.

Every single liberal Democrat, and those who think Washington's endless over-spending is/was worthwhile, should do this. If you don't, you're a hypocrite. You should not support a huge and all-powerful centralized government unless you are willing to work endless hours and send ALL your discretionary income to the government--so it can decide how to best spend it.

War-mongering, pork, world policing, corporate bailouts, "stimulus," trillions to Big Banking and every other corrupt Big Business that pillages the economy--those payoffs are all part of the "price" of Big Government. These costs will never be cut--but the pittance the people get back in return for the fruits of their lifelong labor will be cut the second you complain that you don't have enough left to live on.

Do not consider that no matter how much EVERY American sends to Washington, is a drop in the bucket. Do not consider that Washington does not limit itself to the money it has, or can borrow, or can print--it does not limit its spending AT ALL.

If you really think our nation is in good shape, your kids will do well, our economy is healthy enough to continue surviving, and the path our politicians are on is sane and reasonable, by all means send Washington more of your money.

Or just wait a few years, and their insane overspending will make them take it from you by force (higher taxes). Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

You're right, the Dems never paid any attention to how much they had going out compared to coming in.

When was their last budget passed?
It was so long ago I can't recall.

Do you actually see the contradictions within your own arguement?

1) You're not telling anyone what to do.
2) You say what other people ought to do in order for you to behave a certain way. If they do "X" I'll do "Z" but only if they do "X" but I have my checkbook out because I really want to do "Z" but only if others do what I want.

I propose a amendment to the bill and if you have a tax refund coming there should be boxes where you can donate 100% all the way down to 10%. The {D}s and their supporters should love this idea. I will give Harry a call
