McConnell stuck himself in a corner with his, "No tax increases at all!" stance.
Real government is about negotiation and compromise. America isn't supposed to be about one party rule where everything is dictated in unwavering terms.
He would have to get republicans in the house on board obviously, but he is the gop senate leader and he has a lot of weight in getting the rest of the gop on board.
Yes, absolutely we need a more practical less political Senator. McConnell bends to much to the Conservative ideology.
You know, they can cut all the spending they want, raise all the taxes they want, but until they declare that the government is not on the hook for private banker debt, then we'll never pay off the $1.5 quadrillion that's going to be owed by the banks
McConnelll is considering total surrender to Obama on raising the debt ceiling by passing a bill in the senate that will virtually give the white house unilateral power to raise the debt ceiling without it being attached to spending cuts. This will basically give Obama the power to raise the debt ceiling as he sees fit instead of having to go through the house and senate to raise the debt ceiling.
Total and utter cave. I'm very surprised
Tying the debt ceilng argument to the budget fight is a total crybaby/political move by the GOP. This is hardly a cave. they were always going to do this.
If they want to cave a tiny bit, they should agree to ending the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy.
But no, the GOP would rather our debt be shouldered on the backs of the working poor and middle class.

Yes that would be a cave. The person who has caved is Obama. What repeal of bush tax cuts are we looking at here. What tax increases are there? I have not heard of any? What is the deal?
