Though the tide is slowly turning and many parents now realize that bilingualism is a definite asset they are uncertain as to how to proceed and often lack the confidence to attempt raising their children as bilinguals

OMG!!! They dare hold a Spanish Spelling bee in a place called New Mexico that has been around 40% Spanish speaking for the last century and was invaded and permanently occupied after a war with a country of the same name?!

Another example of the government running the schools.
The minority political groups are forcing people into things they don't need or want so they don't have to learn english. Why is it spanish is the only langugage of discussion. You want to speak spanish fine I perfer the option to NOT SPEAK IT AND I SHOULDN'T HAVE PEOPLE FORCED TO KNOW IT VIA PUBLIC TAXING SCHOOL SYSTEMS!

So the solution to 30 million mexicans is for the other 250 million english speaking to learn spanish so we can make you more confortable here. About 20 million of them are illegal and shouldn't even be here.

I didn't see italians asking for signs, and a national spelling be and demanding anything. I think what we really have here are people who don't respect ENGLISH and this country and ALL other languages and feel they should get what they want.

Learn english and be an American I'm tired of the POLTICAL TOOL of the spanish speaking who think their country and traditions are so important everyone has to learn them as well and everyone should be bilingual.
