Through the corporate-funded American Legislative Exchange Council, global corporations and state politicians vote behind closed doors to try to rewrite state laws that govern your rights. These so-called "model bills" reach into almost every area of American life and often directly benefit huge corporations.

Interesting but hardly news that corporations run the wolrd...with full and complete backing and support by the right/neocons/pawns/Republicans/idiots/slobbering fools.
Collusion to divide markets to increase profits is the primary goal of long term corporate planning. That was once considered anti market but cooler heads prevailed and profits are protected. Corporate collusion is supposedly illegal but as there is no effective international economic law this anti market activity is not only condoned but actively encouraged.
Protecting western oil companies, some owned by monarchies, access to oil wherever it may be is the basis of our foreign policy and our participation in costly and destructive war around the world. These wars have nothing to do with protecting the United States but do protect the investments of the British and Saudi Royal Families.
Founded in 1973 by Paul Weyrich and other conservative activists frustrated by recent electoral setbacks, ALEC is a critical arm of the right-wing network of policy shops that, with infusions of corporate cash, has evolved to shape American politics. Inspired by Milton Friedman’s call for conservatives to “develop alternatives to existing policies [and] keep them alive and available,” ALEC’s model legislation reflects long-term goals: downsizing government, removing regulations on corporations and making it harder to hold the economically and politically powerful to account. Corporate donors retain veto power over the language, which is developed by the secretive task forces. The task forces cover issues from education to health policy. ALEC’s priorities for the 2011 session included bills to privatize education, break unions, deregulate major industries, pass voter ID laws and more. In states across the country they succeeded, with stacks of new laws signed by GOP governors like Ohio’s John Kasich and Wisconsin’s Scott Walker, both ALEC alums. https://www.commondreams.org/headline/2011/07/13-8
Replace "corporation" with "government" and you're spot on!
Yep, but keep in mind that this is their solution to such. Heck, when the democrat party came out as to their solution to dealing with the GOP concerning the debt ceiling was to slander and libel them and were stupid enough to admit such, are we surprised by this?
"Hey everyone! Focus on the "evil corporations" while us caring government officials pull the rug out from underneath you!"
Collusion and corruption. These organizations should have their corporate charters canceled.
Remove the power of government and you remove the power of the corporation.
