- Police in Georgia have shut down a lemonade stand run by three girls trying to save up for a trip to a water park, saying they didn't have a business license or the required permits.
Remember the things like this when some delusional moron claims we live in a "free" country.

Do they have the proper forms, if their community requires forms?
If not, the kids just learned a lesson.

The people of Midway are upset with the Police, for enforcing an ordinance that was voted into existance by the very legislators that the people of Midway voted into office.

Wow!

I think the people of Midway need to remind the politicians of who exactly put them into office, and have that ordinance changed.

Way way back when, i did have a lemonade stand, and homebaked goods, back when, things were more sane, and more simple. Did not need a permit back then. And people were happy to buy from us youngesters.

Lesson Learned: The government wants to extract every penny it can and that includes little girls just trying to make a few bucks to go to an amusement park. I'm surprised the health inspector didn't show up and start handing out citations and fines.

I was actually thinking the same thing, I'm guessing since the kids apparently weren't fined, maybe it wasn't all about the money?

Kids selling lemonade, I'd be more apt to buy from them than fine 'em.

Here in Maryland inspectors issued little kids a $500 fine for their lemonade stand near the US Open. Turns out the kids were members of the Marriot family and a mea culpa was issued of sorts.
