Your right!
The president doesn't take office and start dictating, at least not he's not supposed to, but our administrations over the past 20 years have challenged that notion with the number of executive orders they've written.

My understanding of what the president does, is set the agenda, or decide what the conversation will be about. I thnk Ron Pauls ideas would be very interesting conversations for congress to have and wonder what laws would wind up being made or repealed.

I think it would be a very good conversation for our country to have.

I do not like the idea of executive orders. They look to much like laws and that function should be carried out by congress not the President. The President has too much power. The power of the president should be limited, but every year we give the president more and more power.

The President is in the executive so he should enforce the laws enacted. He should also act as a check and balance with his ability to veto, and be the commander in chief of the military. I don't believe they should do much beyond that. The problem with Paul is that he would probably veto every bill...maybe that would not be a bad thing, who knows.
