My co-worker recently had to shoot a home-invader trying to break in and do god knows what to her and her young child. LENGTHY previous arrest record.....shocking.
Oh yeah, and she had 1-2 big dogs barking and growling and the dude kept on pushing his way into the house knowing all this.
Some people just have no clue about the kind of scum out there and want to disarm a large segment of the population because certain parts of the country are unwilling to tackle the drugs and gangs in their communities. Just easier to blame guns than your own failings.
Many of you gun haters would have just waited around for the cops to show up and who knows what would have happend. Long wait out in the country.
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) --- A home invasion at Rep. Leonard Boswell's Iowa farm ended when his 22-year-old grandson fetched a shotgun and aimed it at the intruder, according to a statement from the congressman's office. No one was seriously injured.
The incident started about 10:45 p.m. Saturday when an armed man came in through the front door, attacked Boswell's daughter, Cindy Brown, and demanded money, the statement said. Boswell, 77, heard his daughter's screams, came into the entryway and attempted to disarm the intruder.
As they struggled, Boswell's grandson, Mitchell Brown, got a shotgun from another room. When he pointed the shotgun at the intruder, the man fled into the fields around the house outside Lamoni.
Boswell's wife, Dody Boswell, 75, also was home during the attack. His spokesman Grant Woodard said the whole family is safe and unhurt, aside from some scrapes and bruises.
The family is shaken up, but "they're dealing with it pretty well," Woodard said Sunday morning.
He deferred other questions to the Decatur County Sheriff's Office, which is investigating along with the FBI and other agencies. Sheriff Herbert Muir wasn't available for comment Sunday morning.

He is actually a "pro gun" democrat and gets an "A" rating from the NRA. I guess his gun ownership and use is completely consistent with his voting record.
Most Iowans I know are smart enough and practical enough not to get sucked into mindless "party lines" type stuff.
Old Boswell aint a bad guy I'm just not a fan of all his votes. I've played in his golf tourney a few times and another state rep's who he always shows up at too.

Most anti-American gun haters are far left loons that live in the city and have the false expectation that the police will protect them.

Actually, semi-auto and pump shotguns (the most common and affordable repeaters) are illegal or highly restricted in much of the world. And some of the proposed "gun control" bills in this country would ban them.
It sounds like you are saying that cops are pretty much useless.
Actually, if you read their message, and comprehended the message you would not have inferred that cops are useless.
Police are a reactionary force, UNLESS, an officer is onsite at the time of a crime. If there is no police officer there, then they have to react, by heading your way.
SO, unless you are armed and ready to defend/protect yourself from a crime, then you will have to wait on them to arrive, however long it takes.
So, Armed = able to defend immediately vs unarmed and have to wait for help to arrive.
