I can't imagine what this father felt; it hurts me to even think about it. I don't blame him at all; he did what I would want to do. If I were on the jury, I couldn't convict him - temporary insanity or something. I understand that some will based on the fact that he did indeed go outside the law, so if I were the judge I would sentence him to probation and maybe counseling. I wouldn't want to further damage this girl and family by removing the father from the home.

Citation needed. Please be aware that "research published by members of the APA" doesn't translate to "the APA says".

Perhaps the concept of a jury is in itself fundamentally flawed.

Well, there are non-criminal parameters of peerage.

No, of truth. I despise pedophiles who act on their urges.

I simply doubt that a trusted authority like the APA does in fact say what Mircea claims. Hence, I ask for a citation. Which I'm sure he'll provide promptly.

How you construe that doubt into a defense for pedophiles remains a mystery to me. I'd be interested to hear your reasoning.

That statement (along with the discussion at hand) only reaffirms my suspicion that civilization wasn't one of humanity's better ideas.
