Borders liquidation is another telling symptom of Americas monetary disease.
It couldn't just be that they're going out of business because they can't compete in the market, huh?

Nobody puts a gun to the heads of group of coroporate executives and tells them to expand their brick and mortars stores as book, music and and DVD sales move to the web on a wholesale basis.

The bottom line is the executive leadership at Borders made some terrible decisions that forced them to liquidate their company.

Too much debt and overhead are the reasons why they can't compete.

Sad because I liked them better than the uptight Barnes and Nobles stores.

Sure the numerous execs they went through made mistakes and are accountable.

But no easy money, no wild expansion.

No drug dealer, no addict.

Amazon will devour all of the bookstore businesses for dinner within a few years. I speculate Half Price Books will close some stores.
