You are right, I misread your post. Republicans are always the villains in Hollywood political movies. Even light hearted love stories.
Actually in the movie Enemy of the State they made a Republican Congressman the morally upstanding guy for refusing to vote on a Patriot Act-esque bill the CIA wanted to push (and this movie was made in 1998-1999 )
Good for you. But the image that has been exported is that "Democrats-good Republicans-bad."
And that is lucky for President Obama. With the spotlight on the Republicans, he has been able to throw his tantrums and crank up the demagogery with nary a whisper of criticism. "Tax breaks for owners of corporate jets," a phrase he uttered six times in one press conference, when the money at issue wouldn't cover one-tenth of one percent of the big imaginary number he was throwing around. But he sure thought it would excite the base, I guess.
The rest of the world evidently is ignorant that the president's party has failed to submit a budget for more than two years, in contravention of their explicit duty by law. And the president's "budget" was hot air--the CBO couldn't score it and it went down 97-0 in the Senate anyway.
Now we have a ray of hope in the Gang of Six, which has resurrected the Simpson Bowles plan that Obama commisioned, then buried. Obama says he likes it, although it has classic common-sense tax reform that will actually raise revenues instead of the punitive crap that Obama has been pushing.
Last time I checked, the rest of the world had no vote in America's elections. Good thing, too, because we wouldn't want to be them.
But let's all hope both sides will start to act like adults, protect our credit rating, and act to reign in the Obama spending binge.

Never saw the movie but you description sounds like they made conservatives the villain. What was the last movie, tv show, commercial, short film, street performance you saw were the person espousing left wing views was the villain and the conservative was the hero?

Oh that's easy. never. Good or bad, the conservative was always the target. I guess if you put it that way, the GOP representative was the villain the government needed to waste.
Visiting the UK a few years ago I caught a TV documentary on the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal.
The Republicans were depicted as being the bad guys deliberately sabotaging Clinton's presidency.
Guess what? They got it right. And guess what else? The monopolized mainstream media showed its propensity for sensationalism and nonsense that would culminate 3 years later into servants of the Bush propaganda that we needed to attack Iraq.
The mainstream media, like Republicans, have a track record.
I think it is largely because the American Conservative tends to be a stubborn,gluttonous, globally ignorant tyrant, who thinks he/she is entitled by God to a special standard of living and a predatory economic system that has no parallel in the civilized world. American Conservatives are truly legends in their own minds.
Imagine a bronzed Rush Limbaugh. Obese, arrogant grin, self-satisfied monologue about how he is brilliant and everyone else is an idiot, all other cultures are inferior, pimping various products he has a stake in. Not an attractive visage for America.
The fact that the system they fight for has never succeeded anywhere except on talk radio and would despoil the globe does not stop them. from arrogantly and viciously cramming it down everyone elses throat, and shanhaiing the global economy in the process.
I think it is probably too harsh to say the rest of the world hates conservative Americans, but they certainly don't respect them, and I don't blame them.
Forcing the US to default on its debt for the first time in history and causing a global economic meltdown is a good thing? Do you people not realize you too are screwed if this happens?
Yea, you are right. We should just believe the Dems will cut spending like the last two broken promises of equal significance. 2-1 promised, then 3-1, and as soon as they got their debt ceilings raised...boom- spent more!

We see now the world reacted to his plea to follow his lead o his stimulus. They bascially called him crazy. Instead they are inline with cutting their spending same as staes in thsi country are. Obama plays to thefringe maddenig crowd which ios the same he did as a community organiser. We now know his rethoric does not translate into policy skills ;just talk.
