How to bring America together:
1. Arrest all on the Left.
2. Shut down all liberal media.
3. Teach all children to think alike.
4. Prepare for the Second Coming of Jesus.
OK, as a liberal, I often feel like I'm not being heard by or talking past conservatives, and I'm sure conservatives feel the same way about me and other liberals.
Most of us can agree that there's too much bitter partisanship, too much polarization, and too much corruption in "the system." I also believe, maybe naively, that most Americans mean well, that people really care about something bigger than themselves, even if we disagree on what that should look like.
So let me ask this question: Where do we start in bringing people together, instead of dividing, polarizing, and ignoring people?
It's just not going to happen.
Sorry but I'm a realist.
You have groups of people that have fundamentally different ways of looking at the world and in many cases they can't even agree on factual information.
Where is the basis for an agreement?
America has now in a winner take all economy and in order to move the country forward one group has to have full control of the federal government.
Bipartisanism is no longer possible when one side totally refuses to compromise.
The 2012 election is going to be one of the most important in our nation's history.
The divide is large. Too large to overcome? Maybe, maybe not. One thing that needs to change is the fear mongering and hate that far right extremists and far left wing nuts feed.
For the far right Christians, you no longer live in 1950's midwest America. That is a time that can never be recaptured. Jobs are gone and people are no longer company men. Mom no longer stays in the kitchen and god has left the building. Latinos rule MLB baseball and the African Americans have rights. Get with the times or get left behind.
For the extreme left. Americans like meat, beer, NFL football, cigarettes, and big SUV's. Focus more on issues instead of trying to make everyone a vegetarian.

Hahaha, this is real funny......the United States Of Ameritard is past working things out, all downhill from here on out.
I read that back in the 50's the Demorats and Republirats had a lot smaller of a divide on things.......maybe a gap of 10%. Today......wow, the politicians and people in general are extremely divided, will never come together.
If you lurk at a lot of the big sites........wow, you can see the hate.....it is palpable. Same thing on some of the cable channels. As an example, go to the 2 HUGE Dem sites......wow, vile.
I truly believe that lots of Democrat lefties would love to get their hands on Bush and Cheney and LITERALLY mutilate them..........just a sick level of hatred.
If Americans don't get together will not be a big deal. Let Americans go after each other instead of invading other countries.
Yep, I think that is the future for this once fine country. Time to stock up on guns, ammo, canned food..........and a couple of huge, blockhead-type dogs.
Divide the country. Give the leftists and other assorted mental defects the coasts.
Give the jesus freaks the entire south.
Let all of us common sense folks have everything else.
