are the hearings on "Big Labor" and the desperation of the NLRB to act as the Obama administration's way to sidestep Congress to pass "card check".

Lead Worker in USW Organizing Campaign Testifies to Support NLRB Speedy Election Rules Proposal at National Hearing - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/lead-worker-usw-organizing-campaign-testifies-support-nlrb-143604201.html - broken link)

Pro-Business Rat Attends NLRB Hearing on Proposed Union Election Rule - Working In These Times

This is the same NLRB that is trying to kill 100,000 South Carolina jobs at a newly built Boeing plant because it happens to be a "right to work" state.

If belonging to a union was so great, wouldn't workers who actually wanted to join be enough instead of Big Labor trying to force membership onto all by doing away with the private ballot and speeding up the election process?

Funny I have this image in my head of a couple of burly 6'8 guys with baseball bats screaming in the workers' faces YOU WILL BE REPRESENTED AND PROTECTED BY US AND LIKE IT.

Doesn't this sound like a protection racket to you? You will have a union on your job and be forced to pay them dues or you're out of a job

There have also been meetings with Congressional subcommittee to do way with minimum wage.
Big business was there in full force but was anyone there representing employees ? The answer to that one is NO.

Minimum Wage, Overtime Protections Next GOP Target? | EdWorkforce Journal | Committee on Education and the Workforce, Democrats
Workforce Protections Subcommittee Republicans and witnesses today questioned the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), a bedrock a federal law that guarantees a minimum wage and overtime pay.
..
The chairman of the Workforce Protections Subcommittee, Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI), said that the Fair Labor Standards Act’s protections “stand in the way of progress.”
..
When asked by Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) whether the minimum wage was too high, about right or too low, the three Republican witnesses either refused to answer or had no opinion."
