It is over and has been for more than 2 years.

You need to accept the fact that your global work-force cannot compete against the global work-forces in other countries, and there is absolutely nothing you can do to alter that fact or that reality. You cannot isolate, you cannot levy protective tariffs, and you cannot punish US companies for sending jobs overseas.

That would be especially stupid, because the only reason you still have a global work-force is precisely because your companies sent jobs overseas.

How many of these are from government jobs? Didn't a whole bunch of Minnesota state workers file recently?

California state workers are also being slashed.

Face it..consumers are not buying so businesses are cutting back.
No need for 5-6 store clerks when 2-3 will do.

Can't compete with them because there's too many people in the world and few jobs that really need them. It's called overpopulation. Americans just got caught with their pants down because they thought "computers" were going to give everyone jobs before the dot-com bust. Now they find themselves unemployed, and using their computers to blog about their misery. Only Americans are to blame for this because they have been warned for decades about this problem.

You mean overpopulation? Nonsense. Americans managed to kill off some 40 to 50 million americans in our abortion mills over the last 40 years or so. Just how is it overpopulation is now a problem?

A drop in the bucket. The population of the earth is approaching 7 billion. At these levels the number of people will shoot up to astronomical numbers even with people having less children compared to before. It is the simple mathematics of compounded exponential growth. There was never a period in history were the human population reverted back to previous numbers, even with all the wars and plagues that existed. They simply caused a dent and there is no stopping it, unless there is a max extinction event such as a large asteroid colliding on earth. Other than that you can just expend even more competition for jobs in the near future. Where there will be nothing left for many people to do because everything is filled up.
