McConnell-Reid Debt Deal Close To Being Scrapped, Larger Package Reportedly In Reach

Mitch no-jaw McConnell's backup plan looks to be dead, gang of 6 will never pass the house because of revenue and cut cap and balance will never pass the senate or Obama's veto pen.

It's getting to the point where even if there were a deal made (which there won't be) there is not even time to write a bill. US will default.

I'm dumping all of my stocks tomorrow. Get ready for the ride.

Wishful thinking. House will never pass it.

Sure there is a choice. The Reid led Senate could, if they cared about this country, choose to accept the Cut, Cap and Balance bill passed more than a day ago by a bi-partisan group of 234 Representatives in the US House.

Stop the nonesensical lies and fearmongering about the only choice being to default when Cut, Cap & Balance meets the S&P and Moody's requirements to keep our credit rating from being downgraded. The Democrat controlled Senate needs to grow up today and be fiscally responsible!

Where is Harry Reid's plan? Where is Barry's plan? It seems that only the Republicans are actually working.

Sure there is a choice. The Boehner and Cantor led House could, if they cared about this country, choose to accept the Gang of Six bill that will be passed by a bi-partisan group of over 50 senators.
c wut I did thar?

BTW, CCB is not bipartisan nor is it compromise. It's 100% spending cuts. The gang of six plan is bipartisan and is compromise that contains a 3:1 ratio of spending cuts and tax increases. You already know that however but choose to still think CCB is "compromise" or "bipartisan"

If they do not care about getting reelected then the default is inevitable.

They may truly believe it is the right thing to do.

While that may not be the right thing to do is kicking the can down the road the right thing to do?

Good Luck to us all.

The Tea Party people are the only ones that WILL get re-elected. They are voting the way their consituients want them to. They were not sent to Washington to be moderates. They were sent to shut down Barack Hussein and return the country to the majority which is center-right

Why are you making the leap that we will default if the debt ceiling isn't raised? We have enough money to pay the interest on the debt.

If you don't get that shiny new credit card, do you automatically stop paying your mortgage?

Mitch McConnell's backup plan all but dead, no choice but to default
Well, it's good that it's dead, but as far as a default, I don't think so.

The House passed their bill, time for the Senate to take it up, which includes a BBA, which 80% of Americans support.

A short term extension is also feasible, considering obama has caved on that threat as well.

Oh, please don't tell me you've duped by obama's rhetoric, that we wouldn't have enough money to pay for the essentials.

Their constituency wants default. They will be rewarded at the polls.
