roysoldboy.

Here is the home page of Media Matters today.

Obviously, MM picks and chooses what stories they will put up. That in itself is biased against the right. Point given.

But of what they do put up here......Can you tell us what is not true or distorted? Give me a specific example.

Internet news gets most of it's news from mainstream reporting.

But a few do their own investigative reporting.

Politico, Pajama's media, Salon, TPM, The Atlantic, etc.

What I like about it ....is that in their commentary they can give you the blunt truth without having to worry about hurting some Senator's or CEO's feelings.

The thing I like about MM is that they put exact quotes in context.

So there is no debate about what was actually said, and the context it was said in.

This is what infuriates right wingers about MM. .......Right wing talking heads count on people not remembering what they said two weeks ago.

The have them on tape, in their own words.

What a load!

How do you not take a statement that begins with "Now, how did we get to this point?" out of context?

Since 90% of the media is leftwing, why is the MM site plastered mostly with rightwing stories and clips?

I don't think they could afford the bandwidth to dissect the pablum being puked from the White House Press Office.

There are pro's and cons. Establishment media have become deathly afraid of offending anyone lest they no longer be invited to get the big scoops and interviews. They don't want to ask the tough questions or the guests might feel they've been set up. They've turned more into stenographers for all the parties involved rather than journalists actively seeking any kind of news. While online journalists don't have to worry so much about this, they don't make enough to support actual investigative journalism, so this issue would just get worse.

What we need are mainstream journalists who aren't more concerned with keeping their VIP treatment than doing journalism.

By the way, Glen Greenwald is the only guy worth reading at Salon. The rest is rubbish.

now let's look at fascism:

""Fascism is a system in which the government leaves nominal ownership of the means of production in the hands of private individuals but exercises control by means of regulatory legislation and reaps most of the profit by means of heavy taxation. In effect, fascism is simply a more subtle form of government ownership than is socialism."" Mussolini

I cracked open my WSJ this morning and it already felt like ancient news. I love the internet for news, especially Drudge as it loads fast and has lots links to other sites.

Padcrasher a lot of mainstream leftist "alternative" media sites like HuffPo are actually funded by rich people who hold leftist views. George Soros has a heavy influence in a lot of the leftist alternative media on the internet and is the master of spreading disinformation on the internet. So the internet is not completely immune. If you want REAL news and not more mainstream dressed dressed up as alternative (laughable at best) then you're gonna have to start going to the "tinfoil" sites that are not funded by rich people like Soros or Ariana Huffington

Uninformed leftists think fascism is government white supremacy which is FAR from the truth. Fascism is the merger of state and corporate powers. It does not mean the government has an official policy of hating Jews and promoting the Aryan race as supreme above all others

It also doesn't mean high taxes and regulations. Apparently, uninformed leftists aren't the only ones who could stand to do some wikiing.
