Raising the debt ceiling... or not, is only part of a bigger issue. A reason credit rating may be reduced is also the inability of Congress to have any mechanism to control spending. So whether or not the funds get appropriated there's still no control mechanism. Still looking at bad credit.

The bills will get paid, there won't be any default but the kids need control. Apparently no one realizes that excepting the old gray haired farts on the dole... the Taxed Enough Already crowd.

Allen West, is that you? Unfortunately, statements such as yours as considered completely acceptable in GOP circles these days.

I think Obama needs to take page out of George W. Bush's playbook and issue an executive order based on our obligation to pay our debts, as outlined in the Constitution.

It really is disgusting and these people have the audacity to call themselves patriot, yet they put hatred before their country. Such a shame. They are like crabs in a barrel willing to pull everyone else down with them.
Well said. So sad that they don't believe it.

It was because he didn't get his way. Didn't read it?

He didn't want the extension for the $250,000 and above but he had to compromise to get the unemployment extension.
