Raising the debt ceiling... or not, is only part of a bigger issue. A reason credit rating may be reduced is also the inability of Congress to have any mechanism to control spending. So whether or not the funds get appropriated there's still no control mechanism. Still looking at bad credit.
The bills will get paid, there won't be any default but the kids need control. Apparently no one realizes that excepting the old gray haired farts on the dole... the Taxed Enough Already crowd.

The GOP in the House should just tell Barry "We won.. you lost" "elections have consequences" "get in the back of the bus and shut up" .
Allen West, is that you? Unfortunately, statements such as yours as considered completely acceptable in GOP circles these days.
I think Obama needs to take page out of George W. Bush's playbook and issue an executive order based on our obligation to pay our debts, as outlined in the Constitution.
Me too. I am disgusted by this attitude and the maturity level displayed here. Some of these people here that think they know everything and will do anything to spite Obama (cutting of their noses to spite their face) will be the ones losing it all. Rather than admitting that they were wrong, they will be blaming Obama somehow. It really is disgusting and these people have the audacity to call themselves patriot, yet they put hatred before their country. Such a shame. They are like crabs in a barrel willing to pull everyone else down with them.
You are so blind it's pathetic. You don't even know (or will admit) what happened to cause Boehner to throw up his hands and walk away from the liar in chief.
It was because he didn't get his way. Didn't read it?
Obama was never in the game really. It was always going to be the conbgress that decided. If he really wanted and believed in tax increases he would have not signed an extension of Bush taxcuts. He bascailly was not willig to take the heat himself in veteoig it. He wants poltical cover of a deal that raises taxes on the so called rich is the truth ;obviously.Bet he wishes he had never made that elections have consequences in shutting out republicans on every issue in his first two years. It that tendency why he voted no on the ceilig under Bush;I am afraid.
He didn't want the extension for the $250,000 and above but he had to compromise to get the unemployment extension.
To those whom 'rep' me: notice that all ignore my post. Not even one quote.
Speaks volumes.
