portrayed as bumbling idiots? Virtually every sitcom does this, so do TV commercials, though movies tend to be a bit fairer.

So what? Your point? The producers want to make some ads funny and they pick the right actors who don't mind doing it.

Capitalism...freedom of speech...etc...

Once again: your point?

And I am asking...what is your point? Men are portrayed as idiots because they are idiots (like Glenn Beck). Some aren't. Some women are portrayed as idiots because they are idiots (Like Sarah Palin). Some aren't.

Once again: Your point?

Oh, I know. Another thread to whine about women and how unfair the world is to men.

What does freedom of speech have to do with this?

Isn the OP also free to speak on the subject as well?

The Freedom to Speak is granted by the constitution in order to protect the speaker from the wrath of the government.

What a silly notion.

Even worse, in more and more commercials, men are portrayed as reprehensible ashholes, and being admired for it. Particularly in Miller Lite ads.

Budweiser would make fun of subsets of men, like mr. really bad hairpiece wearer, etc..
