A few days ago I read this article and knew it would only be a matter of days before the Limbaugh Lemmings would begin to dispell heat index. Tick tock, tick tock........they came right on time.
ROTFLMAO
If they had a brain maybe their actions wouldn't be so easy to predict.
I have a response to this ITS JULY!!!
Next week it will be in the low 80's :-)
Give it a rest media you don't make history because its hot.
The media looks like fools. They love to make crap up.

It's summer...in places like DC, NY, the Northeast.

See, you have to put in a date. You know, where it says RECORD LOOK UP? Where it has Month/day/year and then filtered by state OR all states. You are looking at the "archived" data. Since the media was claiming we have "record breaking" heat wave across the country, start in mid July, but especially the 20th on.

I see you didn't look at the NOAA link either, which shows how many records have been broken, out of approx 6000, during this record breaking heat wave.....a pitiful .4%. Wow.

As I pointed out, it makes a difference what records set you are trying to access. I did find a record broken in Oklahoma on July 21st, and I can find many more such records. But the NOAA database you are accessing has not been updated yet, which is why when you scroll down a bit further, you find that the information for April, May, June or July is not accessible. Sorry, but you have been looking in the wrong place at NOAA's website to make your argument.

Absolute nonsense. That must be why they're showing a few record breakers then, huh? That's why they have the dates going back to January in their lookup. How preposterous to claim there are no records from March going forward. That's must be why the RECORD LOOKUP goes all the way back to 1850.
YOU are looking in the wrong place, as I already pointed out. That is the archive data.
Nationally, 1,966 daily high maximum temperature records have been broken or tied so far this month (through July 23). Sixty-six of those records were all-time maximum temperature records.More impressive, however, are the figures for highest minimum temperature records. Because of the extremely high humidity levels during this heat wave, a whopping 4,376 record highest minimum temperature records were broken or tied through July 23. Of those minimum temperature records, 158 were all-time records
