I am referring to President John Kennedy. The one who LOWERED taxes.

The one who said," Ask NOT what the country can do for you but, what You can do for your country".

He wouldn't stand a chance against the new dems who want the gov't to do EVERYTHING for you.

Jeez, I forgot something. A conservative pundit (Krauthammer?) several years ago called Dubya a liberal.

Like a chrysalis, we're emerging from the economy of the Industrial Revolution—an economy confined to and limited by the Earth's physical resources...

But progress is not foreordained. The key is freedom—freedom of thought, freedom of information, freedom of communication...

Freedom is the right to question and change the established way of doing things. It is the continuing revolution of the marketplace. It is the understanding that allows us to recognize shortcomings and seek solutions. It is the right to put forth an idea, scoffed at by the experts, and watch it catch fire among the people. It is the right to dream—to follow your dream or stick to your conscience, even if you're the only one in a sea of doubters. Freedom is the recognition that no single person, no single authority or government has a monopoly on the truth, but that every individual life is infinitely precious, that every one of us put on this world has been put there for a reason and has something to offer.

No it is not my father's GOP and I'm thankful for that. My father's GOP sat by quietly while "Tricky Dicky" unConstitutionally took the USA off the gold standard in 1971 and defaulted on the debt for the 3rd time in US History (1st time was under FDR, 2nd under LBJ).

Krauthhammer was a far left liberal not so long ago an is now a moderate Republican. I would not call him a Conservative.

What is the difference in philosophy and political agenda between a "moderate" Republican and a conservative?

Lightbulb If Reagan was running for office now, the Tea Party would not vote for him

They'd label him a socialist and question his citizenship.

GOP version of American socialism
