How about place our military on our borders?It's where they should have been for over 20 years now!Our guns wouldn't be in Mexico and their illegals and drugs wouldn't be here!!The US would have looked alot different from how it does now!

I've thought that for a long time. It's simply to keep the unemployment numbers down. Take a look at the number of military personnel stationed around the world.

In your world, unless privateers benefit from your taxes, it ain't an investment. But if government is involved in development of infrastructure that helps ALL (yeah, besides those poor privateers), then hell breaks lose. I take it you have been to a country where the government doesn't do a thing, and privateers are building super-highways?

Hey, lets build a super highway in the Gobi Desert too!

We should see awesome returns on that as well.
