Bill O'Reilly is one of those Republican Propaganda Network, (Fox), loons who tries to defend the lunacy of the right. Without a doubt Breivik is a christian right wing fundamentalist loon. I seem to remember O'Reilly once said that the fact that the earth has tides is proof that there is a God. O'Reilly should really be ticked with GW Bush who proudly announced he was a born again christian who spoke to God and then declared war on an innocent country killing 100,000 Iraqis and 5000 American while disabling thousands more in the process. You would do better to listen to Peter Griffin than O'Reilly.
My point was that I can call myself whatever I want...but if my actual beliefs don't line up with what the group teaches, I'm not one.
The problem is that, with Christianity, "the group" is so diverse that they can't even agree on what their basic teachings are. I know how you feel about Mormonism; you've made your contempt of that faith very clear. I don't know what you think about Catholicism, though. As a Calvinist, you may even deny that Catholicism is Christian since it does not teach many of the "basic teachings" many Protestants say are essential -- things such as sola scriptura and sola fide. As an LDS Christian, I would say that obeying the commandments Christ gave us are a critical component of what it means to be a Christian. Other professing Christians on the forum would say that a person's actions have nothing at all to do with whether he is a Christian or not.
The shooter self-proclaimed.
He said it, why is O'Reilly angry?
It makes Christians look bad and messes up the "all terrorists are Muslim" meme that Fox News has spent years pushing. It seems like no matter what denomination, the supreme commandment of modern Christianity is "Thou shalt not embarrass a fellow Christian". Even though finding a real Christian is a bit like finding a true Scotsman.

Whatever....we can put aside our theological differences--you and I can have that discussion another time. Even if you consider mormons, catholics, etc to be Christian....what did this nut job display that would make us believe that he should be lumped in with anyone that claims to be Christian? Did Jesus tell us we should go around mass-murdering people? Is that a command of Christ?
