Amazing, the hypocrisy, the lack of courage, the partisan politics....here we have their own words, coming back to smack them in their two-faced faces.

The Senate dems voted down the House CCB/BBA, 51-46.

I want to hear a rational explanation of why a balanced budget amendment is bad, I have yet to hear one. And nobody give me that emergency situation crap, since a balanced budget amendment will have an exception for emergencies.

I am for such an amendment, but one reason that I have not heard discussed much is that it would trigger AUTOMATIC tax increases to bring the budget in to balance if there is a shortage or congress lies about the cost of a program.

Also, anything can be classified as an "emergency". Not having enough money is an emergency.

I think the democratic party as a whole, has slid too far into the Marxist camp to be compared to the democrats of a few decades ago. But its a worthy exercise to expose the words of democrats who are still serving now, and their words and votes from the past.

I find it funny that the OP is ONLY NOW complaining about hypocrisy and partisan politics when this as been going on, on both sides for decades. Case in point, HC plan taken directly from the repubs, Ryans budget plan will add to the deficit and require the need for the debt ceiling to be raised....but only the dems are hypocrits and playing partisan politics. Guess she hasn't shaken hands with the kettle yet

well, it would force us to raise taxes and cut spending. Congress seems to be incapable of these two things.

The bill in the senate would hold the budget to no more then 18% of GDP, which would force a limit on spending, regulating and taxing. this would force even the socialists in government to run a better government, free up waste and abuse and reduce regulatory burdens to free up revenue for any new social welfare programs. It would even force cuts in prolific and unnecessary military expenditures, which would make libs happy.

If they want a bigger budget, then enact sensible legislation that actually grows the economy, raises the GDP and gives them more revenue.

All politicians are hypocrites. They change their positions whenever they find it to be politically expedient

Look at the "individual mandate" centerpiece of the heathcare reform act. It was initially a proposal by 20 senate Republicans (including 5 or so that are still in the Senate). When the Democrats compromised and included it, the Republicans took a 180 degree turn and now proclaim it to be evil and unconstitutional.

We kicked out 15 of the 20, give us more time so we can get rid of the last 5.

Be realistic, 0bamacare was 3,000 pages, it was written by lobbyists and partisan hacks in secret, passed with bribes and kick backs, forced down our throats, and no one even read it, of course we opposed it.
