Veteran Sen. John McCain has had enough with tea-party-aligned lawmakers who have vowed not to vote to raise the debt ceiling before passage of a constitutional balanced budget amendment.

The Arizona Republican, the GOP’s 2008 presidential nominee, described their position as “foolish,” “deceiving, even bizarro,” given Americans’ anxiety about the sliding stock market, a halt on hiring and the possibility of higher interest rates related to the looming default.
McCain: tea-party 'foolish' on balanced budget - On Congress - POLITICO.com

I'm guessing he's not worried about losing their support.

McCain is right. These tea party people are cutting their noses off to spite their faces. What they are doing is very foolish. To destroy an already weaken economy, threaten the world economy, is nothing short of lunacy. Smarter republicans are distancing themselves for these radicals. Even the tea party supporters think they have gone too far.

They are foolish on pretty much everything, from Obama not being an American to wanting the government out of Medicare.

Stay stupid tea party.
