Balls in Obama's court now. This way, we'll get to revisit this issue before the election.
Raising the debt ceiling is so we can pay what we've already spent. Government contracts etc. It's not new spending.

Where was the Tea Party during the last 100+ times the debt ceiling was raised. I agree with the major credit rating agencies, the United States should get rid of the debt ceiling. We are supposed to debate budget spending when creating a budget! Not when we need to vote to allow the United States to pay its incurred debts.

Using the debt ceiling as hostage for political gains is unconstitutional. If all measures fail to allow the United States to pay its debts, section 4 of the 14th amendment gives the power to the president.

I second what you say. I read some of what is written in these threads by those you reference and think OMG, do I really have to live in the same country with these turds? Is there no way to escape them? Your first sentence, paragraph two really sums it up. Their policies KILL people. And the sad thing is, they are just fine with it, as long as it's not themselves or a member of their family. They could not care less about anyone else.

People that depend on govt to live do not deserve to survive. They need to shut up and get in line for daily food ration.

Current law (31 U.S.C. § 1105(a)) requires the president to submit a budget no earlier than the first Monday in January, and no later than the first Monday in February. Typically, presidents submit budgets on the first Monday in February. The budget submission has been delayed, however, in some new presidents' first year when previous president belonged to a different party.

Lol, where to start with this slop. Ok, so of course the Republicans haven't had control of the government for the last 11 years. Your first mis statement.

Ok , so next Boehner hasn't put forth a budget, he has put forth a deficit reduction plan. Your next mis statement.

So finally, the overall premise of this thread is wrong. The fact that some in the Republican caucus object to the Boehner plan proves it is a compromise.

So well done, it is rare to see a thread that is wrong in every way!

no----no pride in your comment that Obama added about 4 trillion to the deficit in 3 years. This is unacceptable and needs to attacked through compromised deficit reduction plan immediately. That being said, to ignore the fact the deficit rose 4.4 trillion during the Bush administrations, and to pretend that all hard line conservative repubs threatened debt ceiling limits----would be comical.

This has become a tragic joke--a farce---a masquerade--- such a poorly written script that it would be cancelled by the networks within 2 weeks.

The whole world is watching and laughing-----the American people are totally disgusted and sensing their leaders have zero common sense and have hijacked by idealogy, dogma, and blind allegiance to zealots.

I fear the bottom will drop out----than pressure will force some action---and than hopefully the puppets can go back home.

Hey, spot on mate. Just like today on left wing radio, they are calling the Republicans "Repigs" and referring to John Boehner as "Boner"......nice......the left is full of it as usual.
