All of which congress had already approved spending for. The debt ceiling will be raised to continue to pay the interest that congress already approved.

Balance the budget separate from the debt ceiling. This whole debate is silly.

I want a balanced budget also. I want to pay down our debt. But not honoring the debt and the interest on it is asinine and irresponsible.

Ron Paul supports Medicare and Social Security he just thinks like many others do that we need a different system. FUTURE GENERATIONS know it will be BROKE and all the young people know it. Ron Paul knows and has never supported a unconstitional program that destroys individual liberty and self determination. Social Security doesn't work and can not last forever! Inflation is killing it and you are taxed on it again as income.

YEP!

Thankfully the Tea Party backed candidates held strong in the end. They are the ONLY sane ones in DC at this point. The liberals and the RINO's still have their heads in the sand.

One good thing I did see out of this is at least on the (R) side, a debate was allowed and differing opinons voiced. THAT was refreshing. I prefer that MUCH more than those on the left who just stay in line and don't think for themselves.

No. It's THE number that balances the budget. Why is that so hard for you to understand. Math is not difficult.

No, he does not.

He wants to allow people to opt out of social security, and anyone who knows anything about it knows that once that starts, the program is over.

Its a back door effort to end it. He has had multiple interviews where he has expressed his wishes to end social security as we know it.

And 70% of the American people want social security just the way it is today.

It's called FREEDOM! If you need people to keeping entering the system for it to work, then you know it is a ponzi scheme.

But 70% of Americans want the program the way it is. In a democratic republic, like we have, generally a 70% majority wins out.

You may want the freedom to opt out, but most Americans don't want to give that to you.

As I said, its the main reason that Paul will never get anywhere close to even 20% of the populace vote, even in a Republican primary.

And therein lies the problem. One group of people telling other people how they should live their lives.

Do you not support majority rule?

A majority of people are center right in this country also. I guess we should just ignore the populace and go full on communist.

Y'all never cease to amaze me. One thread your all about the people want this, that, and the other. The next thread its about you, and the populace be damned.

Which is it?
