Because he has a D after his name. That's the only reason needed.

How is returning to fiscal responsibility ruining the country?
We have to pay the bill eventually. The longer we wait, the worse it will be.

You guys are the ones playing games.

I'm serious and I think this is a reasonable question.

What is wrong with balancing the budget, especially given 8 years to do so.

Unless you were being sarcastic with the OP. I simply extended that "logic" of yours, applying to you.

What you see as fiscal responsibility, I see as being irresponsible. Hence my conclusion.

Because Obama is the one obfuscating and scaring people.
A Default is not necessary or inevitable, but Obama is playing hardball and lying to the public to smear those who are trying to implement a process to balance our budget.

Stopping runaway debt is irrepsonsible?

For sure i cannot say he is doing this intentionally. However intentionally both party's seem to be acting like spoiled brats, that both have to have their way or the hwy. No in between. Right now i resent both party's for playing with our lives, while either one of them get the big win.
This is not one side, to say that is ingorant, it is both sides, because either side has been fiscially irresponsible to the point that has gotten us right here and now.
