Yep those brainwashed college kids who fell for the hope and change mantra are realizing that there aint no jobs and the hope is that they have enough change to buy some more ramens to live off till Obama gets the boot.

Wait for the nominee to be chosen. Then watch the swell of support. Right now people are just waiting and watching.

Actually they get more. I can't find the poll I saw last week, but about 42% of Americans blame congress for the debt ceiling and budget. 20% blame Bush, 15% blamed Wall street banks, and about 8% blamed the President.

Explains the 40% approval for the President, and the 6% approval of congress.

But some threads are stated to try and focus blame on one person, instead of showing the whole picture. If the OP was genuine, he would have stated that most Americans blame congress for the current issues.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Conservatives, what makes you think Obama will lose in 2012 when his opponents are even less popular?
Because the voters will blame Obama on the poor economy.

Congress includes both houses - each party controlling one house, and most polls don't specify the D's or the R's. Either way, they deserve plenty of blame, both parties, as does the President IMO.

True, and the numbers after this debt ceiling debacle won't be known until a month or two down the road.

But Most Americans blame congress, and President Bush for the current state of affairs, by about 65%. I think the "Bush" part of that equation narrows the field into who they blame party wise in congress mostly, time will tell.

I agree, I can find blame in all parties and people involved.

This isn't a race and they're incomparable. Congress is 535 people who will most likely all get reelected. Obama is one person facing a 40% approval rating. The purpose of this post is to put it into context with the upcoming presidential election.
