House 2 plans vs. Senate 0 plans

Support shifts as Boehner adds balanced-budget amendment - TheHill.com-

Quote:
GOP members said Boehner’s revised framework would still pave the way for the $14.3 trillion debt limit to be raised through the 2012 election in two chunks.

It would also mandate that the second hike of the ceiling could occur only occur after a balanced-budget amendment passed both chambers of Congress and was sent to the states for ratification. Previously, a vote on such an amendment was all that was required for that second increase, which under the Boehner plan would likely be necessary early next year.

I have no idea what that means but I am glad to see the balanced budget ammendment requirement is in the new version. Congress has proved that they can't cut spending. THey can barely aggree on a slight reduction in the rate of increase of spending (which is what this bill proposes). Only when they are required to balance the budget will they actually do so. The states have to do it so why not the feds?

There has been talks that Obama has been speaking with Republican leaders on an alternate plan, if this is true, I'd like to see it ONLY if it gets voted on before AUG 2 and ONLY if Obama would be willing to use the 14th amendment if it doesn't pass the House.

Veto.

All that time for nothing... way to waste time House of Reps teabaggers.
Passing a bill that will surely die...that's helpful.

A balanced budget amendment would make the country whole again, would cut out the pork, personal wealth gain of most politicians and pet perks.
Would require government to shrink down and stay more out of our business.

No way the Democrats could live with that. They want EVERYTHING through big government, which is why we are broke today.

Yeah lets see Dirty Harry's excuse to flush it this time. Probably all the fault of those pesky tea party folks.
