...so why are they acting like they are shocked and it's all Obama's fault. You don't go to a restaurant, order a bunch of items, and then when it comes time to pay, start a debate with your company as to whether we should pay or not. Pay the freaking bill and then talk about changing your spending habits!

Refresh my memory....who pushed through obamacare and the "stimulus"?
Was it the GOP campaigning so hard for those? It'll get raised...but we need to cut spending big-time now. No reason we can't do both.
Just imagine what we'd be able to do without $14 T in debt hanging over us. Imagine the social programs we might do...why aren't you guys screaming for reduced spending to pay that off?
The influence of the Tea Party has forced the issue of financial accountability and responsibility to the forefront of the national consciousness. Republicans in Congress have picked up the banner and Democrats are resisting.

Remember the bailouts and stimulus started with Bush. We are screaming for reduced spending and tax revenue increases. We have a 14 T deficit! We can't responsibly close that gap with spending cuts alone. I agree we need to cut spending by a lot, but we also need to increase tax revenue. The Bush Tax Cuts were exactly that...they were temporary tax cuts that were meant to expire.

I agree we must cut spending. However, we need to pay our existing debts first! Once this budget ends, we will create a new one and that is when we should be having this debate. Actually we should be having that debate at the start of 2012, instead of trying to rush a piece of crap bill to prevent defaulting. Let's raise the debt ceiling, that way we have time to create a great budget that will pass at the end of 2012.
Republicans voted for the budget in 2010 knowing we would be over $2 trillion short...
...and Obama failed or refused to veto.
Or are you suggesting Obama displayed incredible foresight and concern and vetoed the budget bill that the Democrat-controlled House created?
