He confronted Obama on the campaign trail, a well-publicized meeting that was all too contrived by the GOP. This plant was supposed to pose the tough questions, represent a problem for Obama. It was a tacky, transparent, worthless ploy that failed.

Now here we are the weekend before the first default in history. Republicans are worried about the elections next year. They need serious help. They can't win the election on their record because it is ATROCIOUS. They are concerned that the man who killed bin Laden will kill them too if they don't do something drastic. There is no upside to their policies and ideas except for the very rich. The majority of Americans can go to hell under their ideology. In order to have a chance at winning, they must do something to give the impression that the other side is a failure, EVEN IF THAT FAILURE IS AGAIN THE RESULT OF THEIR PARTICIPATION AND EFFORTS.

The racist tea party contingent was mistakenly put in the House, and they have proven themselves absolutely worthless. "Ideological purity does not solve problems." Some in the GOP understand this, but the plan is to default, or try to force a budget plan that again benefits only the richest Americans and negatively impacts the economy in the same manner as done under Republicans Dubya, Bush Sr, and Reagan. "Trickle down" economics has never worked. Having done this, they plan to blame the resulting problems on President Obama rather than their lack of flexibility and atrocious policies. Their campaign strategy depends on this. Again, a tacky, transparent, worthless ploy that will fail. They must think the American public is stupid.

"Buyer's remorse" is the buzz phrase for the 2012 election as severe mistakes were made allowing Republican candidates to gain seats in the House, Senate, and offices throughout the country. This short-circuted the thrust of President Obama's efforts, efforts that promised the benefit the country tremendously, not just for the very rich. It's obvious now that if this country is to move forward, getting rid of Republicans and their tea party contingent is critical.

You do realize Gallup has Odummy at 40% approval with a 52% disapproval, right?

If it goes any lower, I'm jumpin' in the race.

So you have absolutely nothing at all, to backup your statement?

We're still in Iraq, 50,000 troops

You were complaining that McCain would triple down, and your defense now when its pointed out that Obama tripled down, is well maybe McCain would have done more. Again, nothing at all to backup your claims right?

.
Are you saying that the the Republican party planted 'Joe the Plumber' in just the right neighborhood, on just the right street, at just the right house to catch Obama canvassing that random neighborhood so Joe could catch the Prez candidate and accuse him of being a socialist?

And the Republican party expects its members to believe it was really just a random happenstance accidentally caught on camera?

Cause if that's the case then the main/lame stream media sure fell on its own cess/media pool on that one cause they had me believin' Joe caught the big one and was asking the right questions.

We are to blame. The people love promises, even if we KNOW they are lies. Promises make us feel fuzzy inside. Candidates promise, we elect. Elected official fails to deliver, new guy promises to make right. New guy fails, another politician promises, and fails. The cycle continues...

You can figure that some or even many of those who supported Obama in the video won't vote for him again. They'll be angry and have no reason to trust him a second time.

If the postings from Lefties on this forum are any indication, I would say that it's Democrats who think "the American people" are stupid. Or, more correctly, "anyone who votes Republican".

Barack Obama never had any "thrust." All he had was rhetoric. It still disturbs me that so many people were bought and sold on that rhetoric.

A_Lexus...why are you not demanding details from this President? Why are not you demanding words-to-action? Has he ever ONCE provided a path forward for anything he seeks to achieve?

You know the answer as well as I do. This President has failed you. The "stupid" people are those who believed the sky rhetoric of Barack Obama. I believe Obama himself regrets the notions he put forth in campaign 2008. It has come back to bite him numerous times. A President Painted In The Corner can't be a good place to be.

Completely agree! I would also add Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Rand Paul, Mike Lee, and others of their ilk on both sides of the partisan line. Ideaologues like them can't govern, but they sure know how to paralyze responsible governing. If you don't know how to compromise in a democracy, representative or otherwise, you can't effectively govern. Hence the big, unnecessary political theater we have had to endure over the debt ceiling. Like the old Rolling Stones song, "You can't always get what you want..."
