The money was meant to save Harlem business, instead the money was used for the executives to go on vacation...$ 70K was meant to make a website that was never made!
The Harlem executives learned how to deal with money from the person who made sure they got it...do nothing and go on vacation!
Pelosi, Reid, Rangel, Obama, Geithner, Frank, Dodd....time for change! Get them out..before this Country is going under...
This is actually pretty common... in ALL political parties... put it this way, it is illegal for them to accept large cash sums BUT if they call it a "fundraiser" then the "donations" are pretty much unlimited for them to go on vacation... yes, its completely unethical to do it in my opinion... and hundreds of them are guilty of this... and they won't stop.... BOTH sides...
Yep they won't stop and frankly it would be hard to after years of living the high life like Rangel has. Hell he got re-elected in the middle of his last fiasco so he has no worries. He could steal the money out of an old ladies pocket in Harlem, get caught red handed, say it was bush's fault and those fools would vote him right back in.

It was a grant that was given to the Harlem Chamber of Commerce to promote local business in the area. This wasn't some fundraiser or campaign contribution. This was yet another example of government waste.
Quote:
A nonprofit that took hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to spur a Harlem renaissance spent the cash on a trip to the Caribbean and a worthless Web site.
The Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce used its $282,000 federal grant, secured by Rep. Charles Rangel, on a parade of dubious projects.
Charlie Rangel was the one who got this federal grant for the HCoC, and they wasted it on vacations and a now defunct useless website. Are no strings attached with government money? This is a disgrace.
Democratic "culture of corruption". Proving once again that liberals know nothing about creating jobs.
But they do know how to p**s away government money. That's about the only thing they're good at doing.
