I think you are both right. The market will boom, but over a more extended period. In the short run, treasuries may attract some money. It will take some time for the slow learners to figure out that 2.8% interest for ten years is a really mediocre proposition.

I promise you, I will be outraged at Democrats if they vote this deal down. If they voted it down and Republicans voted for it, I'd even say I'll vote for Romney in 2012. I'm almost certain, this deal if it doesn't go through would be due to the Republican House, but like I said...if Pelosi and the Democrats vote it down...I will be equally as outraged and most likely support Romney 2012.

The stock market is extremely overinflated and very out of touch with what the American people are feeling.

Your opinion--keep on selling your stocks to me. The American people are despondent at the bottoms and giddy at the tops.

Obama just announced a completed deal, 8:40 PM Sunday, and futures are still going up.

Now for the votes.

Are we betting it won't pass the house???

If it has a trigger, it means we kick it down the road until trigger time.

And yet they will have to vote on it to see what is in it. Thus far they've seen a powerpoint summary.

Seriously $%^& Republicans and the Tea Party. They are the biggest waste of life on this planet. Really...you are now objecting because some of the cuts will come from defense! You know how many military bases we have in every freaking country and Boner and the other Republicans aren't willing to make cuts. This is ridiculous, if a deal doesn't pass because of this, I will be the biggest advocate to rid Washington of Republicans. I can't believe this crap...Boner you #$%^ing idiot!
Well, you see their entire goal is to slam Obama. So, they have to figure out how to do that while saving their own bacon.

It will be interesting to see how this shakes out, but I am glad we will not default.

You forgot one thing in your equation. In order for people to buy the new treasuries to be issued, people have to get cash from somewhere, often times, its the stock market.
