I didn't say tax increases. We need more tax revenues. I'm sure that the design of the super committee will knock some sense into the anti new revenue crowd. They'll see the light.

New revenue comes from two places;

Tax increases - which is all the democrats/libs ever think about.

Revenue from more people working, more people paying taxes.

The dems aren't interested in the latter.

Now, there are some loopholes the GOP might entertain, but it would have to accompany tax reform, serious tax reform.

Sadly for you, every pundit on MSNBC has characterized it as such as has the CBC and progressive caucus. Bad day for the left.

Obama Hurt By Debt Debate - George E. Condon Jr. - NationalJournal.com

Quote:
The months-long melodrama leaves President Obama weakened politically and potentially constrained as a president.
Oh, yes.

Quote:
But right now it's hard to see many victories the president can show to his party in this deal. He didn't get the “clean” increase he once demanded. He didn't get the “balance” (revenue increases) he demanded, though he insisted that taxes remain very much a part of the second phase of the bargain.
He can insist all he wants - won't happen...or I should say at most, it will be a token closing of loopholes and the like.

Read the rest of this article - very grim indeed for obama.

Increased revenue=increased taxes or growing the number of tax layers. Obama's policies have actually shrunk the number of tax payers. When he talks about increased tax revenue, he means increased taxes.

Well than some one should inform Hannity because he is very upset and screaming at his guest.

The GOP/TP has totally changed the debate on spending, debt, deficit and the federal government's abuses of same.

Obama has been forced to adopt the Tea Party position of major cuts, NO taxes and accountability.

Outcry From the Left Precedes Debt Deal

See, obama knows they will still vote for him, but he's after the Indies, who have fled in droves.

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/31/us...er=rss&emc=rss

Remember now, obama wanted a "clean" DC increase, he wanted "revenues" (tax hikes), he got neither...and before he can have the remaining traunch, a commission will find almost $2 trillion more, or it goes to the states as a BBA and then across the board cuts if that fails.

So? The CBC and progressive caucuses have vowed to vote against the bill. That is a much bigger problem. Good luck trying to peel the leftists off the ceiling.

The debt ceiling is raised, taxes are not, everything else just is. Nobody really "won" anything here and nothing really changes. Are you yahoos really this silly IRL?
