Another pro-defaulter. I'm glad that sanity prevailed and the tea party lost.
Huh?
HUGE win for the Tea Party.
Understand, they have totally and completely shifted the debate from tax hikes to the out of control spending and needed government cuts. That IS the default now.
Perhaps you should listen to your fellow liberals, who are wailing and gnashing teeth tonight throughout the internetz.
The rest of it is a nearly complete capitulation to the hostage-taking demands of Republican extremists.
But in the end, most Democrats will have no choice but to swallow their fury, accept the deal and, we hope, fight harder the next time.
For weeks, ever since House Republicans said they would not raise the nation’s debt ceiling without huge spending cuts, Democrats have held out for a few basic principles.
Wow...you can actually feel the RAGE of the NYT editorial board.
LOVEIT!
What these s c h m u c k s don't understand is it HAD to be this way - the GOP has the American people on their side.
The people looking to cause chaos and prevent a raise in the debt ceiling lost. Today sanity won. We are cutting the deficit and raising the debt ceiling.
Huh? This is a huge victory for the tea pever, even if they don't recognize it. The conversation is only about spending cuts, not a peep about taxes.
Nope. The debt ceiling is getting raised and the deficit will get cut. The structure of the super committee will give us more cuts, reforms, and new revenues. This is a big win for everyone who wanted to see a resolution and to see the economy have a sound footing to stand on.
