Maybe because federal spending has gone up from about $3.2 trillion in 2001 to about $6.1 trillion in 2011......

Default The tea party is prehistoric

The problem with tea baggers and the tea party in general is that they have more in common with the Klan, than they do not. The ideology of any bigot-based organization does not stand the test of time.

So rant on.

The problem is that we have spent for too much money on our empire and on foolish programs that supported even more foolish ventures (bail-outs, Fannie Mac/Mae, etc.). We are taxed enough, but - just like true junkies - the addicts want to up their doseage instead of decrease. So they paint the picture as needing more money (revenue) instead of the need to live within a budget.
You said it PERFECTLY!

Lmbo u seem to be under the impression that Busg had all this support and ppl approved of what he was doing. Maybe u should take the time to check out his approval rating to get a clue.

Obamas actions was just the final straw

Well, the tea party is ruining our country, but you're running it too, so I guess being in power is worth the total destruction of our economy. Thanks, ya'll.

You're not the only one. My spouse and I are agnostic Libertarians, and we support anything the Tea Party can do to stop overgrown, bloated and corrupt Government from totally destroying what's left of our nation and its economy. We have no hope unless Ron Paul is elected President, and thousands of other Libertarians run for office and are elected.

We also have ZERO respect for the TRUE rich, who will not stop until everyone other than themselves are starving in the street. And by TRUE rich, I don't mean two professional working people in their peak earning years, trying to save for retirement and college for their kids, and skyrocketing health care costs. Unfortunately, these are the people targeted by both Democrats and Republicans to pay for the massive costs of a destructive and grossly over-large government that protects only the interests of Big Business, and itself.

While I like the Democrat rhetoric, that they support the Middle Class and the poor, in real life everything they do forces the Middle Class to pay higher and higher taxes, in order to give more and more to a growing underclass of those who can't and won't work. This, as a system, can't work--we are already far past the point that the remaining workers can support an endlessly-growing group of non-workers, for whatever reason.

There is currently no political party that supports the Middle Class workers at all. Both Republicans and Democrats see the working class as slaves to be worked to death, and not allowed to keep any of the fruits of their labor.

The Libertarian Movement is a ray of light at all levels:

Politically, it would crush the unified Republicrat Party that has prevented ANY reform from the liberal Democrat Big Business model, as well as restore the freedom we have all lost as Big Government grew and hired armies to license, tax and micro-manage every move a citizen might make.

Economically, it would take away the crushing burden of Big Government and allow small business to thrive on the spending of those earning the money--instead of confiscating so much and sending it to Washington, then handing it out to the Big Businesses that already have almost all the wealth and cash in the economy.

Intellectually, everyone should be able to see by now that the Socialist Big Government model has proven a failure, in all except extreme foreign cases where for a limited amount of time, the population is totally homogenous, innately workaholic, young and healthy. No nation can stay that way, and we couldn't make ourselves that way unless we threw out 70% of the current population.

And personally, I would like to see a future for America. I hate watching the adult children of our peers graduate college with degrees (and personalities and intellects) that used to guarantee employment, but remain working part-time in service industry jobs with no future, years later. I hate both my spouse and I working 80 hours a week when in previous generations we'd be VPs by now, working 20 hours a week. I hate that even though we were about at successful as possible in highly technical fields, we are still "working drones" while the spoils of the extremely profitable company go to Robber Baron CEOs who don't have the brains or knowledge to last a day as an intern in our least-challenging entry-level jobs.

One thing for sure, if allow the same systems in power to continue on, doing as they please--and they may be so powerful there's nothing we can do short of violence--we are guaranteed total economic collapse, a bankrupt government, default on all Medicare and Social Security commitment within a couple of years, a worthless dollar, hyperinflation, skyrocketing prices for food and energy, etc. In short, if we continue charging off the cliff, we'll hit the bottom very soon and experience more pain than we can currently imagine.

Funny how those who are not members or supporters of the Tea Party, and in fact hate it with a passion, feel free to tell others that the majority of the Tea Party supporters are racists. Was there a poll done? A study? Is this statement based on the fact that the liberal personally knows the majority of Tea Party supporters, and personally knows they are racists? I really, really doubt it.

For one thing, the Tea Party is not trying to get the rights of minorities restricted, or trying to do ANYTHING related to minorities. It is a movement that says government is now so large that it is destructive to the economy as well as the citizenry, and so expensive that it is crushing the economy. Since the Founding Fathers predicted that government would grow until it destroyed all freedom, and this has now come to pass, we want to save America and return it to the only political system EVER proven to work with freedom and prosperity for the citizen.

You'd think those so frightened of the Tea Party would want to attend a meeting sometime. They might be surprised that nobody cares about race, there is no wasting time talking about race, and if a minority were to walk in, he or she would be welcomed and accepted. Though the liberals who see themselves as "champions" of the minority races (in fact revealing that they themselves think these minorities must be protected, like children) won't face this, there are many successful minorities who do not accept the paternalistic attitude of Democrats, and know they can succeed in the real world sheerly on merit. For instance, Liberals might want to read the articles and books by conservative African-American economist Thomas Sowell. Any Tea Party meeting would be thrilled to have him lecture on the economic consequences of Big Government, and I would gladly buy a ticket.

If you don't like the Tea Party because you support Socialism, just say so. But don't try to marginalize a patriot's movement by simply yelling the modern equivalent of "Witch! Witch!" so fewer will listen to their message. That's more a strategy for the grammar-school yard.
